Hi Folks, been kind of busy lately, but had a craving to do some photoshop, so did a little this morning. Now this isn't composed well at all for you beginners. I was so concentrated on getting a good view of the flower...I missed getting the supporting vase in the photo. The vase is directly below the flower...so instead I have what looks like a floating flower. Oh, well...at least I got some practice in...and learned a valuable lesson. BTW....I wish everyone a early Happy Valentines Day!

Very nice rose James. Now all you need to do is play in PS agian to put it on a nice background. Maybe onto a grooms lapel.

Who needs a vase when you can have the rose? Lovely and great work. The water droplets in the download are beautiful.

Excellent shot, James! In photographing flowers, I like this technique of eliminating all background competition, and focusing totally on the flower. This you did extremely well.

Thanks so much Folks for your encouraging and fun comments. Think I have to haloing thing solved. I have to use a different background. Going to test my theory shortly.

Thanks Wahawk, found a flaw in my PP technique so I'll probably try another version soon before this flower dries up. Hey...that darned cold air is back, so keep warm up there.

That FRIGID air made it back here!! Was up around 44 yesterday, was still around 34 or so when I went to work at 3pm, and when I got off work at 10p, it was down to -7 and was at -10 when I checked about 8am!!!

I am ready for the 40 deg lows again!!

Ok Folks, after some thinking (my brain hurts again), figured out my halo problem. The underlaying image was fringing through the edges of my removal mask causing a halo around the bloom. Fixed it by making that layer image smaller. Looks much better now....another valuable lesson learned.
