Hi Folks, been kind of busy lately, but had a craving to do some photoshop, so did a little this morning. Now this isn't composed well at all for you beginners. I was so concentrated on getting a good view of the flower...I missed getting the supporting vase in the photo. The vase is directly below the flower...so instead I have what looks like a floating flower. Oh, well...at least I got some practice in...and learned a valuable lesson. BTW....I wish everyone a early Happy Valentines Day!

Thank you Kindly Folks...just having a little fun and a chance to stretch my computer fingers at bit. I bought this for my wife a few days ago...and it's been on my mind to photograph it before it gets to wilted. It made a good subject to play with.

Not bad at all, James. You got a solid red, not washed out, not orange, but red. A floating rose isn't a bad thing, either. Overall, a really nice shot. Love that Topaz!

Considering this was illuminated with nasty old florescent light. I've set up the camera for "Auto" white balance and I gotta say...it did a great job here finding a good hue.
Yep...Topaz makes a great companion to PSE, allowing a much broader pallet of templates and tools to play. Thanks for your critique Randy.

James, you may have been deceived. While they are undeniably beautiful, there is nothing very simple about a rose.
