Call me crazy but looking at that chart reminds me of when my wife goes shopping and comes home with bag after bag of stuff and says "look at what I saved!" I have always replied, "Yes dear but look at what you have spent!"

The assertion that increase in immigrants translates to increase (or retention)of manufacturing jobs is ridiculous. Prove it. You may as well say that the ebb and flow of manufacturing jobs is tied to sunspot activity.

Take a look at the following chart. it's a pretty powerful endorsement of immigration in this country. However, my point in posting it is not about immigration. My point is this: if I WERE trying to make a point about immigration, I would NEVER use this chart to prove my point, as powerful as it might be.

Why, you might ask? Because there is nothing in the chart to say where the facts came from. The guy who created the chart could have easily made everything up, I have no idea. It looks impressive, and someone spent a great deal of time creating it, but it's just BS unless there's a way to verify it.

So please conservatives, next time you want to post something, make sure it's verifiable. Just because you uncle sent it to you in an email is not proof. And remember, most radical right wing sources (WND, or anything with the word Patriot or Eagle in it) are NOT reliable sources. They make stuff up and pass it off as fact. By the way, the CBO is a very reliable source. But at least be ready to name your source when challenged, even if it might be out there in Kookoo for Cocaoa Puffs Land, OK?

Please don't turn this thread into something about immigration. That's not my point here, OK?

Have a nice day.

Thank you for posting this. If nothing else, this thread stands as a testament to the reading and comprehension skills of some of the more notorious right wing posters here. Good job, but now I think you have a far better grasp of who you're dealing with. They're hopeless.

Ahh thank for pointing that out to me. You will have to pardon me as I am wired to call BS when I see it regardless of left or right. Thanks again and have a nice day.

Agree. Whether conservative or liberal in origin, an undocumented chart is without any value, and any intelligent person would ignore it. Although drifting from your intended post, I would point that there are good analyses from knowledgeable people that may help to see the subject in a more accurate way than charts based on so many variables that, even citing sources, one can use them to prove a point or its opposite as well depending on one's political taste.

Here is an analysis on the subject that I find more reliable even if I don't take it as an article of faith:

If you're going to talk to "reading skills", might I suggest you go back and take grades 1 -6 again. Your posts in one of the other threads indicate that you cannot even read (nevermind understand) the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States...

Don't be concerned, gunny - I have a feeling this is another of the "Phil Robertson's First Amendment Rights have been violated" crowd, who simply does not understand what "Congress shall make no law..." means.

"Nevermind understand" without a comma between the two words is incorrect. Furthermore, "nevermind" as a single word is not correct. The proper writing should be "never mind, understand".

I think what he meant to say was "much less understand" as in "cannot even read, much less understand"

tschmath.... I basically agree with what you say....
So please conservatives, next time you want to post something, make sure it's verifiable. Just because you uncle sent it to you in an email is not proof. BUT I believe that you will agree (and maybe have been guilty) If I give a site....It will be immediately dismissed unless it is from....???????? and we are never told WHO/WHAT would be a good source...

I often try to have two sites what are from opposite ends of the spectrum and still the words fly out "CRAP" "HOGWASH", etc.....

What to do, what to do..

Mike
