Used my 105 Nikon macro setup with Macro Flash unit. The leaf was iridescent, compare with the "reflection" leaf. Also, should the back tip of the leaf be removed to emphasize more the lines of the leaf?
Iridescent Leaf "Reflection"
Great result....by back tip,do you mean the bottom part? If so no, I like it as is.

rotate and display as vertical - crop as desired
I like it as is.
But, with a very close crop on the 'real' leaf (just the curve without the bottom edge) it could be a armadillo shell!

Actually it is not perfect. It is a great shot but you got a bit too close. The leaf curve is cut on the left. You could have gained a great deal by showing the full leaf. Re-shot from a bit afar then modify the crop if you feel like doing so.
I love the capture of the silver color ...but the black, especially in the spine, looks a little noisy in the thumbnail, which could be the reduction or my monitor so that's a grain-of-salt comment.
I somewhat agree with wolf, I'd like to see more leaf.
Overall I like it. I think it's artistic and interesting to look at. I do like the idea English Wolf suggested about capturing the entire leaf then cropping it down to fit the page.
Don't touch it, it's perfect the way it is.

Leave it alone. My initial reaction was "DANG! Look at that."
