I want to buy a New Nikon D7000

I have been on the search for a D7000, I would do a D7100 except my budget won't allow it, and I have noticed they have imports and US models. Other than the warranty's are there any more differences?
I need some help before I make the plunge.
I just need the body and a flash since I already have lens.

The factory will refuse to service grey market products. Have you considered a factory refurbished unit? Factory refurbs often receive more attention before they are shipped than new units. As long as you're dealing with a reputable dealer like B&H or Adorama you'll be in good shape. Oh don't forget about MTShooter he has recently opened his own camera store you may want to shoot him a PM and get his advice. He's honest and very knowledgable. BTW Welcome to the Hog.

Nikon factory refurb D7000 is $780

For $200 more, you can get a refurb D7100.

And DEFINITELY make sure if you don't buy from one of the biggies, that it's a North American/US model.

Mom, to answer your question more directly, besides the warranty, there is absolutely no difference between the grey market and the USA model.

While what you say is true the warranty and inability to get factory service is significant and well worth adding to the conversation. If I were the OP I’d find this information just as important…just sayin.

I've never had to have a camera repaired - warranty or not. Nikon offers a 90-day warranty on refurbs, which is always my first choice in bodies. New is over-rated.

Thanks Wall-E and Jerry for the refurbished idea, I am sure it 's the way I will go. Still trying to deceive between the two since I can get a refurb 7100 for just a. Couple a hundred more, if I do amazon They have a 12 month interest free with their card so I may go for the 7100. Waiting for blk Friday and cyber Monday till I make up my mind.
Again thanks a lot for your feedback.

Best Buy is going to have a Black Friday deal on the D7000 with the new 18-140mm lens for $799. You may like this lens better than what you have (?), but if not, you could easily sell it to offset the cost. That would give you a brand new body with full warranty for less money than a refurb.

I'm selling my Nikon D7000. I have it on craigslist with a 50 prime but if you're interested in just the body let me know. First go to Craigslist, Bergen county, NJ and look at the pictures and specs.
