I think your right Graham....the lens cleaned up real nice and works wonderfully. I think customer service from Helen and others at Adorama is certainly worth more than a small bottle of Goo Gone.

ps: Just ordered a CPL for this lens from Adorama...a nice B&W should be here by weeks end.

Well, Well, Well, that's brilliant action from this company. Talk about instant satisfaction. I have never seen such swift, customer after-care service in all my days. Well done Helen at Adorama.
Bret, I think they deserve another chance, That's my opinion for what it's worth.

Iv'e just seen Helen's up date which is just as admirable, a very honest answer to the problem. If I was in the USA I would definitely use this company.

Thank you, Graham - you know we deliver worldwide? And if your order is under $200 US if you drop me an email: Helen@adorama.com with details of what you are looking at we can look at possibly less costly overseas shipping alternatives to UPS, eg USPS

A true gentleman, Bret. You're usually pretty mellow here, and I thought before you were just having a stressed day.

Helen you are quite a girl, in saying that, you do deserve all the credit you received from the forum members, for your swift action, the problem which could have spread was very smartly nipped in the bud by your good-self. This has been seen and appreciated by a hell of a lot of people, this can only be good for you and your company. I will be buying another Canon L series lens soon and I shall send my enquiry direct to you. You make sure your bosses see what you have achieved to day, you deserve a good bonus. In fact anyone who has the name and address of Helen's employers could drop them an email and tell them how she handled this situation.
Helen deserves that with her impressive swift actions.

The very best of Luck to you Helen, you certainly did the business today.

Brett you are good man, not just because you thanked me but I hope I did help in your decision making you realised that everything worked out well for you, thanks to the young lady
Helen. We all get a bit cheesed off when we are waiting for something and it comes and isn't perfect. That's human nature.
If we hold our hands up some more of us would have reacted as you did. Anyhow you made your peace and made another order with Helen's company. Well done my friend and good luck with the job the lens is for. Why not let us know how it performs, that'd be great.

My father was a designer of tensile testing machines and would oversee their installation. They were usually encased in a stainless steel cabinet, so he'd always take a rag & a can of WD40 with him - a quick wipe over and all of the installers' fingerprints were removed very quickly. I now keep a can in the kitchen; after cleaning my hob, my cooker hood, my dishwasher front and my fridge, I give them a quick wipe with wd 40 and they come up looking like new.

Two of the craziet purposes for WD-40 include a bus driver in Asia who used WD-40 to remove a python snake which had coiled itself around the undercarriage of his bus, and police officers who used WD-40 to remove a naked burglar trapped in an air conditioning vent.

Yeah, but I just hope you don't smoke while doing any of the above. It also makes a bloody decent flamethrower-- so no thanks, I'll stick to a nice IPA.

GEEZ, magicray, on my little laptop I could only see the top of your reply and thought "good gosh, I hope nobody tries THAT"!
Then I scrolled down and saw your post script. You're BAD!

Just kidding.
