Barb, give us a break, this is so childish. The only people that care about Texas are those stuck there.

UP-2_IT, sounds like you have trouble dealing with those of us that are proud of the history of what Texas brings with it. Take time to study the history of your state and compare it to Texas history and then compare the two honestly and see if your sarcasm carries water.

Saw my first Blue Norther working a the aluminum plant in Ingleside, a 1500-2000 foot wall of weather coming straight at us. It was about 95 degrees out and within about 5 minutes it went down to about 40 degrees plus the dust picked up was like a 'whiteout' snowstorm, you could not see a foot in front of you. Quite a memorable event...

They forgot San Diego, TX. I'm blessed to be American by birth but Texan by choice. I got here as fast as I could - both times - and hope I end my days in the great and beautiful Republic of Texas.

Uh..TXRVer, hate to break it to you but Texas is a state. It ceased to be a rebublic in 1845. Seceded to Confederate States of America in 1861 and finally accepted statehood om 12/29/1845, but there are a lot of them Republicans still hanging around. Probably most important I do remember having a good steak in Ft. Worth one time! I hope you continue to enjoy your stay there if nothing else there are a lot of miles to see.

Worked in Red Stick (Baton Rouge) for six months back in the mid-seventies. Was happy when the job was finished and I could get back to Texas.

Jeff Foxworthy said this about Texas: If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Texas.

The State Mascot is the Armadillo. They always have four babies, one egg which splits into four, and they either have four males or four females. The State bird is the Mockingbird and the State flower is the Bluebonnet. State Prayer is " Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth" Amen!
Y'all git all that?
Its been said that Texas has everything --well alm... (show quote)

Would like to visit all of those cities. My daughter and her husband lived in Dallas area for five years and her oldest son was born there so we have a Texan in our family.
