New to the forum, so looking forward to getting great insight, expertise, guidance and coaching from the collective.

Retired twice--from the US Army and SAS, a big software company. After years of film photography and then some down time, I got back into photography couple of years ago when I bought a D90. Shoot Nikons exclusively and use Elements 11--and recently Lightroom 5--for post-processing.

Welcome to UHH. When I joined I didn't know what to expect, however i was pleasantly surprised! Lots of well informed people, many newbies, and like all groups , a few bad characters! I'm sure you'll love it. Happy shooting!

Graduated from BHS in 1966. Moved to Alexandria, VA in 1978 and retired in Hilton Head in 2010.

Two sister still live in R.I. one and her husband own the restaurant Local 101.

Glad I left. DC was great as is Hilton Head

I'm new to the forum as well, and so far I'm beyond favorably impressed with what I've seen here. I haven't seen a single case of arrogant arguing about whether Canon, Nikon or Sony (etc) is better, just very helpful and insightful comments from knowledgable and friendly people.

Welcome aboard!

I always tell my friends and neighbors that they should try retiring at least ONCE. I hung up my suits, ties and white button down collars twice. Once for the fed govt and then the last time for a govt contractor.

I'm enjoying the TV and remote and yes -- my trusty canon -- as well.

WOW small world I'm a 1969 grad of BHS!! We haven't been to the Local 101 yet but is on our list of restaurants to try.

Hope to eventually in the next 18 months to move to Ocala, Fl maybe full time maybe as a snow bird? Our current family situation will play into the decision.

Welcome doduce. Will be joining the ranks of the officially retired at the end of my shift today. Looking forward to getting some remodeling done around the house, a little golf, and a lot of photography. Pretty sure we will stay busy. Lol

Better take up night photography for the next week or so. One Hundred Eleventeen degrees will melt your lens. :]

When I get up in the morning I don't have a thing to do. When I go to bed at night I"m half finished.

That's retirement.

You'll love retirement; I sure do. Please remember, however, as a friend once told me.........only problem with retirement is that we "never" get a day off like the working folks do :) (see, one smiley face).
