Congrats
Send it to me, I'll figure it out then send it back, really, I will. Then I'll be able to walk you through it!
Or, you'll need to read that boring manual all by yourself.
Good luck, again, congrats.

I assume you have EF lenses to use with it, like your 70-200.
The EFs lenses are made for APS C cameras like your Rebel.
If I were to switch to Canon, I'd definitely have a 5D. A friend of mine has one and I was really impressed.

Have some EFs now my wife can have them and the T3i. Also got the 24-105 with it but they did not have it on hand and are going to mail it.

   The 24-105 is a great all-around lens. It isn't the fastest but it will allow the user to explore focal lengths very few other lenses afford. It shows what WA offers, yet can be utilized for portraits. Canon wisely offers it to tantalize hobby shooters into Nirvana. It is the proverbial door to the candy store. Beware, and enjoy it very much. It offers a wealth of possibilities. GL

Go to the Canon digital learning center website, there are some great instructional pieces there.

I bought it the day it hit the market. It was pretty intimidating and I'm still learning. It's a great camera. Read the manual and shoot a lot. I'm here and Canon support is good.
Enjoy it!
One little problem that bothered me... I bought this body so I could use Carl Zeiss lenses specifically. With this body you can't. There's a communication problem bewtee the lenses and the camera. This is not a problem with the Canon 5D Mark II and the new Canon D. Because of this I've added another Canon lens to my bag instead. You will definitely appreciate your 5D in low light situations and awesome noise reduction.
Have fun with it. Peace!!!

Don't forget the new firmware update is out and it helps with some problems. It will lock focus quicker and it will auto focus with the extenders now. I think it helps with some video stuff as well. I love mine and rarely use my 5D-2 much anymore.

Those Zeiss lenses are meant to be manual only in the first place. I have not had any trouble using them on my 5D MIII
