does anyond have this camera and how do you like it?
You don't want that, if there is one lying around where you are just send it to me ! lol
I read everything I can about it and am most interested also. Check out the D600 forum at DPR.... tons of info. It has a sensor and quality to die for. The only downside is that it has a propensity to get dust and oil spots on the sensor. Very easy to clean with the products from Copper Hill though. What camera are you using now?
I wish the D600 had come out before the D800. I'd have saved $1k+.
I have an early production D600 and really like it. Spots once early on and none since. I would buy another in a heartbeat- it is that good.

I have one. I moved up from a D60 so I am amazed . I got mine at Costco with 2 kit lenses and just got a 50mm for it. I took a pic of the sky after 2 months and no spots on the sensor. It has so many options though it is a learning curve for this newbie. My last full frame was a film camera and I'm just getting back to this hobby. I can't believe how sharp the pics are when I shoot raw. PP in Apple Aperature and crop hard.
Great reports you guys! When checking for dust or oil remember to stop down to f16 or 22 if you have it. The sensor can be really cruddy and you'll never even notice at wide to medium apertures.
Buy one. You will love it. I have an early one and it is fantastic. The kit lens is really clear too.
I've had my D600 since December, 2012, and I'm absolutely hooked. The photos I'm capturing are stunning and sharp. Mine came with two lenses, the 70-300 and 24-85. I also use my nifty 50 1.8D. I started with a D40, baptized my D90 in the lake and then bought this one. Honestly, I'm glad I fell into the lake or I would have been blissfully happy with the D90. No comparison! I haven't had an oil problem (checking at f22), but if I do, I'll get the Copper HIll cleaner.

I have one of the first from the first batch to India in October 2012, have over 17000 images through it, had a very brief attack of dustitis on the sensor, sorted itself out.
Great camera, I came to it from my D7000, now have also got the D7100, another brilliant camera, you should look at both. You might find the D7100 meets your needs very efficiently as well.
love mine too, i will never part with it , still learning about all thats on it.
Absolutely love mine and I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have the noted dust and oil problems. Have since added the D4 so I've been enjoying that for now, giving my D600 some much deserved rest. I never leave home without one of these and sometimes with both depending on what's planned for the day.
Everything I have heard suggests that it is an outstanding camera, (once the oil issue is under control.)
My only concern with the camera is that the weatherproofing may not be as good as the D800 and D4. It is more of a concern if you shoot in crap weather obviously.

I seen the D800 at our local camera show and I do think you made the right choice even though the added cost may have set you back a bit. Sure wish I could trade my Canon T2i for the D800, but I'm still on a steep learning curve so I will need to wait for the purchase of a more sofisticated camera. The T2i is just fine for the moment.
