Remember them? Up until about a month ago we were using them as the only way to get our local channels to come in. Now we keep them around so we can still see the local channels when the weather gets bad and our satellite goes out.
Oh gee! I'm so old that if I put pictures in this thread from "my" long ago, people would think I was from another world!

when people on here start using text spelling, I feel I'm from another world. If you look closely at this photo of me from 1968 you can see a kodak box instamatic that shot 126? 127? cant rember cartridge film.As for me I havent been cute and adorable like that in a long time. Being an adult bites :!: :!:

Although I had difficulty identifying those other items when I came to your Graphic, my heart began to race. She's beauuuuuuuuutiful John.

There is nothing sexier than a bellows.
God I feel so old. I've seen or see everything posted thus far. I should be put in a museum and periodically dusted.

congradulations, you officaly qualify for gezzer status. The good thing is you are now expected to grouch and talk about the good old days. 8-)

Yup. I remember 50-60 cent per gallon gas and cigarettes at 35 cents per pack.

Soon as I chase those darn kids on my lawn and hitch up my pants so I can get to the early bird dinner special. I'll address you.
Some things I miss: Red Ball Keds, Original Fizzies, Erector sets and Gilbert chemistry sets. Flash powder for interior shots. Flat head Harley-Davidson WLAs and Indian Chiefs; film and paper, cheap wind-up watches, Beeman's Gum (and Teaberry, Clove, and Black Jack)
But I love modern stuff. Did you know you do not need a crank to start your car? I hear them horseless carriages have some sort of battery contraption. Lordy, lands sake alive.
Seriously, I love 78s but I love the technology that lets me put he music on my Android phone or iPad. I love wire recorders, but I adore the tech that lets me burn a CD. I love hot sports cars like those from Ferrarri and Bugatti, but I love the 300SL Gullwing.
I would continue but bed time is almost here.
If this is about who is oldest, I win!

When I served in the USN, I used one. One of the Chief Petty Officers had one that he replaced all of the black leather with white leather and used it for weddings. It was very impressive!
Never seen one in white, that would be interesting to see...

Do you still use 4x5 at all. Took some pics from the top of a ladder on my Sinar this week and got that old darkroom urge thing again.
Ian
No I have not used my Graflex in years Ian. Last time I used it I was shooting Ectachrome 200 with it. :) I doubt there is anyone in town that can do E6 4x5 sheet film anymore. Interestingly enough the last thing I remember using it for was when an old steam train came through town and made a stop. I think it was the same type as the last steam train used in the US. It's a neat looking old art deco style of train.
I was showing the camera to my 11 year old daughter a few weeks ago. She thought it was really cool. She just stood there with her mouth open most of the time as I was showing her how to use it. :) She wanted to take it to school to show her friends but I did not think that sounded like a good idea.
Anyway, have a merry Christmas Ian!
