Once an adapter is fitted to a lens can you then remove it and then attach it to another or do you have to keep buying adapters for the type of lens/camera that you have thanks
Adapter is a device that allows you to connect one lens brand to another brand of camera or viceervesa

Yes you can reuse it on another lens of the same type/make that utilizes the same mount.
Ok thanks how do you remove an adapter thanks

Depends on the mount it is for, some simply screw off and others have a lever that you have to press first before turning. Take a pic and put it on here showing the mount side of the lens and I or someone else can let you know.

Just as a lens has a locking pin to keep it on the camera the adapter has a locking pin to keep it on the lens. Since adapters tend to be very thin, the release mechanism may be small and not too obvious. Look for a little tab or tang that you have to pry up or over to get the adapter to release.
Ok thanks will have find the lead that attaches from my phone to pc first thanks for your help
Other Hoggers have complained about inexpensive (cheap) adapters being quite difficult to remove from lens. This has been discussed a few times on UHH.

I would say that if you have a lens that needs an adapter, once the adapter is on, you should leave it on so that it does not get worn. If you are continually switching it to another lens,it will more than likely after time fit loosely, cause undue wear on both the lens and the adapter. So you are better off finding additional adapters for the lenses you need them for.

I think the question needs to be asked. Are you speaking in generalities, or do you have a specific situation and adaptor that needs to be addressed ?

Good question. Does the adapter (or the lens, for that matter) have a plastic mount that might come loose with time/use?
It looks as if its all metal have found i think the little tab that you have to press will give that a go thank you all very much
I'd agree with Tim, if it's a good adapter, is a finely turned part to mate with a light tight seal and with use (on and off) you may eventually ware down the part (-.0005" to -.001")enough to ware it's is no longer light tight.

As far as my knowledge goes with adaptors, they are fitted and removed in the same manner as your len would be if fitted directly to the body, ie, canon lens to canon body or nikon lens to nikon body.
Someone let me know if thats wrong!!!
