1. You need any help or you are going to help?
both.
2. How many hours or minutes are you spending with forum?
about 2 - 3hrs a day while doing other wk at hm.
3. When are you placing your comments looking somebody’s picture?
is there supposed to be an "at" in the question?
4. If you see bad picture are you placing your honest opinion?
I do but in the best possible taste other than to offend.
5. When are you posting your picture /you took picture of something interesting for other members or you are proud of result/?
generally I post when I would like some advice or when I have a photo/s that I would like a comment or critique on.
6. Sorry but what's the point of "Question #6 is the name of this post".

For my benefit & of those people having spent their time filling in yr questions where is this leading?

Baz

From page 1 yr comment.

Quote "I will try to explain you my question #3. For example I placed /posted/ my picture. I see that a lot of people looked at my picture but only few of them or nobody left their comments. Why?"Unquote.

Freedom of speech, Freedom of choice call what you will or they just have nothing construvtive to say so they don't say anything.

1. I am new to photography and mainly lurk, looking for and reading topics of interest to me personally. Primarily in the Photography Forum, Photo Gallery, and Photo Analysis sections
2. Probably a half hour daily, scanning for topics of interest in the first two or three pages.
3. I occasionally pace comments in the Photo Gallery section when I particularly ilke a photo.
4. I have not yet felt qualified to evaluate a picture as 'bad'
5. I have posted only three pictures, two of Painted Buntings, because of the subject, and one 'Shades of Green' because I liked the composition.

What are you looking for and what have you found in UHH ?
-- Mostly looking for ways to stay "into" photography while I am busy making a living ... elsewhere. Have found lots of good tech info + interesting social interaction here.

1. You need any help or you are going to help?
-- Usually need more help than I can provide

2. How many hours or minutes are you spending with forum?
-- Way too much time lately (1-2 hrs daily) - there sure are a lot of pages here!

3. When are you placing your comments looking somebody’s picture?
-- I only place critical comments if solicited, and if I have pertinent knowledge in the subject area (rarely!). I comment occasionally on truly outstanding shots, but usually avoid adding to long strings of "great photo" kudos. I will occasionally offer feedback for new users who have posted without many replies.

4. If you see bad picture are you placing your honest opinion?
-- I generally avoid negative criticism of plainly problematic images, since often users are posting because they already know there's a problem anyway, and again I rarely have the technical savvy to offer real help. And "fixing" problems in post is an area that is too subjective and emotionally charged for many, it seems (as in, "whaddya mean my Photoshop work sucked?!?" ) - although I have some considerable post knowhow, it's often not worth getting into, imo, because the followup answer as to WHY it's bad can be most difficult to convey to somebody who doesn't grasp THAT it's bad in the first place.

5. When are you posting your picture /you took picture of something interesting for other members or you are proud of result/?
-- Most often I'll post a photo because I hope others will find it interesting in some way, as I apparently did - sometimes if only for how bad it is!

Most photographers are looking for a pat on the head, so we created Photo Gallery, which has the sub-text "Show off your pics and/or ask for general critique."

For photographers seeking true critique, we created Photo Analysis, which has the sub-text "This is where we scrutinize photos and discuss specific issues of a given shot."

I never say, good shot/bad shot as these are pointless comments.

If you see a photo I believe it helps the shooter and others to say "why"

Hey Doc ..... start over, ask one question and you'll get a response .....

..... six questions at once is too complicated doc .....

1 always looking for critiques
2 varies
3 huh?
4 if I see a "bad" image there are generally more than enough suggestions for me to go to the next image.
5 When I post images I look for suggestions on how to improve my craft, sometimes, such as the last imahe I posted, it was an interesting circumstance and simply wanted to share ( Buck with one non typical antler).
If I like a particular shot I hang it because it means something to me personally, Example I have a front quarter shot of a 66 pontiac catalina on my wall, not a perfect shot, but it was a one of a kind car, 421 super duty performance engine, 4 speed car very rare, convertible very very rare, car was 100% flawless. Most people walked by the car not knowing it was one of 3 ever made and 1 of 1 still in existance.

What am I looking for? I'm looking for one of those sexy dumb blonds that everybody's making jokes about who'll give me her phone number and address, but all I'm finding is a bunch of cranky old left wing coots.

Steve, you have to go to the sexy dumb blondes forum for what you seek, but be careful what you wish for. 8-)
