Jerry, Another interesting post. I always wondered what to take to Saturn. Did it give any info as to what cameras these lens were attached to? Fun to think about. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

It's the question NASA had to answer a few years ago when they sent the Cassini spacecraft to Saturn. So what did they decide? The craft has one tele and one wide angle. Let that be a lesson to all of you who wonder what to bring on a trip. :D
I recently watched an entertaining hour about the mission, and it seemed like science fiction. Cassini is over two billion miles away, and it is receiving orders from Earth and sending back images - about fifteen years after it was launched.
Many people have posted questions about what lense... (

I'd agree...I've always said if I only had two lens and a full frame camera it would be a fast 35mm and a fast 105mm....there's a whole lot possible with just those two...
"The total cost of this scientific exploration mission is about US$3.26 billion, including $1.4 billion for pre-launch development, $704 million for mission operations, $54 million for tracking and $422 million for the launch vehicle. The United States contributed $2.6 billion (80%), the ESA $500 million (15%), and the ASI $160 million (5%)."

IF that is true, this space program is cheaper per kilometre than a Melbourne Taxi... and that does not include the $3.20 flag fall or AU/US Dollar difference!

Many Americans still think the monies given to NASA and other space projects today would be better spent on the needs of USA.
Maybe Russia thought the same and decided to leave space until they needed it.

That may also be true for military spending. maybe a little less spent on the military would free up funds for other things such as publicly funded medical care or foreign aid.
I'd probably take one lens, and a backup of it, and the same for the camera. Here on Earth, I went on a tour of selected European cities for 21 days carrying one lens and one camera: Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 lens with image stabilization mounted on a Canon T4i camera. One of my pictures won an award.

A nice "fun" shot, and I mean that in the best way. BTW, how much is 350 pesos?
Well, whatever. Not worth mentioning I suppose that hardly anything is "Made in America" anymore. Everything is from China and Korea and Japan. Including the famous Apple IPhone. You can always talk about your past achievements.

Join the club mate, as you say, Everything is from China and Korea and Japan, and all the call centres are in India, have you ever tried to make enquiries about something, perhaps a product, and you are transferred to a call centre and someone who can barely speak English and try to make yourself understood, but all they have is an IDIOT sheet that they read their standard answers from. BLOOMIN IMPOSSIBLE AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.
Oh dear I've just blown a gasket, so I'm going to have a nice large malt whisky now and calm down a bit!!!!! lol
Thanks for compliment on hotel picture.
At the rate of 12.5 pesos to the dollar, 350 pesos equals $28.
