Annette - The food looks yummy. You can cook for me anytime. Never had the gingered pears but would love to try them some day, Sonds really good. That is so sweet that you read to Dad, I am sure he enjoyed it too.

Tjon - Harmica and sticks huh, One man band? Pretty cool!

Laskalass - Looks like a lot of work putting together those necklaces. Our daughter loves to make jewelery too. She makes everyone in the family little bracelets and necklaces. The grands are adorable. Looking at your husband reminds me of a mad scientist LOL(no disrespect intended) just the intense look on his face. You make such great quilts. The building is cool I think some interesting things can be done with that one. You are so good at painting too. Great cityscape. LOL collecting people huh? sounds like you are making a horro movie over there LOL. I would never get tired of looking at that scenery either. I wanted to get stationed there but duties took me elsewhere.

Woman - I haven't seen you in a while, nice to see you. Never heard of a diaper cake before but they look really cool. and I love the effects on those classic cars, you are so talented.

Jim - Love that story of a story. Excellent photography and talent.

Rivernan - Love the first photo in the city and how you captured the reflection on the left. Pretty awesome. Nice rims on the bike and the framing work is pretty cool too.

Page 2

Howie - Love the smokey quartz. The coloring is amazing. Salactite looks like Ice but it is beautiful. The rose quartz is beautiful too and the setting is great. The Vanadanite crystals look like candy all gorgeous crystal and quartz. Can I ask how you came to start collecting them?

Jay - Nice set up, The grand canyon is pretty neat, I never understtod golf but I tried it once, it is a lot harder than it looks my shoulders were sore for three days afterwords LOL. The kids are cuties. I am not a drinker but the wine collection looks nice.

Page 3

Cherokee - Nice aerial view of lady liberty and love the sail boat in the background. How did you get lucky enough to ride in the plane? I would love to have my own LOL. Have you ever seen Radio flyer?......

Hamtrack - That is so awesome that she dedicates herself to something she loves and she is so good at it. THe quilts are amazing. It is cool that the grandaughter is taking interest in it too. It is a productive trait.

Judy - Beautiful scenery. I was thinking about it the other day, When I get old and can't do anything anymore, at least I will be able to share my photography for generations. You have a beautiful family including the puppy too.

Jim - Never heard of that game, is it like marbles?

Judy - I love camping I was raised doing it. I noticed you are watching not hiking.... Just saying LOL.

Page 4

Subroto - Nice collection..... Do you know how to use any of it?? LOL Nice set!

Hi all,

I have done my best to keep up this week but time just got away from me. For this weekend's challenge I have choose hobbies. We all have various things we enjoy doing. This are the things that keep us sane in this crazy world. Show us what you enjoy and what occupies your time. I would list my hobbies as sewing, reading, photography, and travel. Not in any particular order.

Not much I don't like to do!

Oregon is one of the states I have not been to yet. Maybe some day I will get to visit your state. I have a large family so they always take priority. That is a beautiful pic of your daughter and granddaughter (I assume.) I now have 11 grandchildren, 1 step-great grandson, and another great grandchild on the way. I really don't feel that old. Nice pictures and thank you for contributing.

Thank you,Perlin-We have 8 grands-they keep us busy, too! We are finding it harder to travel because of the kids and dogs these days. For us, thankfully, time passes so quickly.....We keep looking for a snatch of time to Ramble-as Jim would say!

Not much of a hiker myself. I enjoy the car trips and getting and exploring at a leisurely pace. Enjoyed looking at your trips however. During an Alaska trip my sister and I flew by helicopter onto a glacier to go dog sledding. It was a lot of fun.

Hobbies? Mostly obsessions ! Not mentioning, mere interests: reading, writing, watching movies, rowing, small time trekking.
But obsessions, aaahhhhh !Long distance motorcycling, mostly into the hills (1,000 to 2,000 mile trips) - camping, fishing, shooting, living off the land, sightseeing sans camera :-(

Shooting: game birds, bigger stuff (no names); graduated from air guns to a .22, then went on to target shooting using the Lee-Enfield .303 that no one wanted to shoot (lack of ear muffs led to poor hearing in my right ear) -- took that up like a fanatic, went all the way: All India Inter-University. SUCH a huge huge obsession. Worshipped Jack O'Connor, Shooting Editor of OUTDOOR LIFE.
Fishing: I was the ultimate fishing fanatic. Had a Dad who was about the same. Since the rivers were full of big, fighting gamefish, looked askance at anything below 10 pounds in weight.
Photography: Got a Kodak Baby Brownie at age 5, as a consolation gift for having my tonsils removed. Wasn't too hooked then but used it for many years till the bakelite body gave way.
Really erupted into a major disease when, in 1976, my old friend Thomas Abraham drove down from Kuwait to India, bringing with him a Minolta XE-1 with a 58 mm f.1.2 lens and a 200mm f.4.5 tele Rokkor. Went plumb loco after that. A succession of Minoltas followed, including the XD 11 with a 100 - 500mm zoom Rokkor. Shot mostly wildlife (Kodachrome 64, Ektachrome 400); Family - Kodacolor, of course.
A couple of photos published in Nikon World and Minolta Mirror didn't help the malady one bit. Made worse by a prize in an open-to-all Photo Competition floated by the Govt. of India; subject: "Children of India". By that time I'd been through an F2AS Photomic, Nikkormat FT2, FT3, Nikon EL2, and finally the FE / MD12 motor drive, bagful of Nikon glass :-)
Then == blooooey ! 25 years no shooting=family, job etc.
2011: Full blown relapse of Nikonitis, still suffering...

Wow! I am surprised you found time to work with everything else you had going on. Congratulations on publishing. Glad you found time to pick up the camera again. Love your pics.

I just recently purchased them from a gift catalog. When I saw them I had to order them. They both open from the back as sort of a hidden compartment. This was an added bonus I hadn't known until I got them.
