It was 38C here today, cooller than yesterday (42C), that's 100.4F and 107.6F respectively.
Even the kookaburras were gasping for breath. We had a bird bath in the back garden and put some water and ice cubes in it for them.
What a nice set, I have been reading about your heat and fires, sounds a lot like our last summer. Thanks for caring about the birds and giving them the nice cool water. You are a kind soul.
Thanks for looking Birdguide, appreciate your comments. :-)

Those are really cool shots! They were talking about you guys during the weather segment on our news yesterday. They said that although it is hot where you are, it is not record setting heat. I think I am going to Australia for the rest of our winter. Screw the cold.
Temperature wise I think about the middle of yours and mine would be great.

Thank you so much Karenn, I appreciate you looking.
I feel sorry for the Birds being so hot and glad a few of them had some cold water. Love the photo's. Thankyou.

Hi Erv,
Last Friday here in Adelaide South Australia, we had 45 C, that = 113 F, this summer is turning out to be Extremely hot, we have had a few Centers that have recorded 50 C, that = 118.8 F, Yuck. At Moomba Gas Field in the far northeast of South Australia on the same day recorded a maximum temperature of 49.6 C degrees, which makes it the highest temperature recorded in Australia in 15 years that is the equivalent of 121.28 F

Great shots infocus. I know Kookaburras are fairly common but I just love 'em.
As an aside, we had similar temperatures on the NSW south coast. In fact we had to abandon our house due to the bushfire threat, however we didn't get burnt out. Just picture it...my wife and I, one greyhound, two chickens and our treasure all piled into the car and heading out with the boat in tow.....bit like the Beverly Hillbillies!!
You're a good person for looking out for the birds under these conditions...glad they rewarded you by posing.
(Edit) Hey would you believe it's Sunday late evening right now, cold enought to shiver and it's raining!!!! Am I dreaming???
