Sorry I don't mean to hog the post. I just thought you might enjoy these.
Those are great, you got those while you were on a cruise? I never got close to anything. I'm so jealous.
Which is why I had to resort to "other" types of pictures, as seen in the post. :D
I have a Canon 60D and a terrible Promater 18-200mm lens which is soooooo slow. What kind of lens do you have on your camera. I have to give the Promaster back to my mother and get a new one. So I'm shopping around.
I used a Nikon d90 with Nikkor 70-300mm VR.
I was lucky enough to spend last summer in Craig, Alaska. I love to take photos and am just learning how to use my camera so please be kind...never shared photos before. If this does not come through correctly, I apologize up front.

Thank you sherbear, I enjoyed looking at your pictures. I, like you, am not a professional photographer, but am a person who loves photography. I am not interested in trying to make money from my photos. Instead I want to priceless joy of capturing memories. I would love to view more of your photos, and feel free to look up the ones I've posted.
These are great shots. The joy of capturing a photo, is important , even if you are selling them later.
all beautiful shots, Rachel. you really get around. wish i could afford to travel like that.
Some photos taken with my wife's Kodak Z981 in Aug 11, as my camera did not make it onto the plane for the trip.
If you would like to see about 20 minutes of fun, if not great, video on the wolf and bears saga, I have them uploaded on youtube. Just do a youtube search for gepaza66 and view them in order from 1 to 4.

Here are a few of mine. I go up there frequently to visit my friend. One piece of advice if you are planning a cruise. Check out the Marine Ferry. I took it from Ketchikan to Juneau several years ago and my ticket was less than $100. Had a bed, a restaurant, bar, etc. and saw all the same stuff at a significant savings. If you can make it, Chena Hot Springs is a great place, northeast of Fairbanks.

That picture with the rainbow is amazing!!!! I really love it.
Thanks! That was an absolutely beautiful day in Denali. We even had some snow at one point.
One can become absolutely awed by the photo opportunities in Alaska. You can barely turn a corner without another beautiful or awesome sight popping up.

Thank you for the photos and the insight into making my visit better. Anymore hints or clues are welcomed.
Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

Hi all,
If anyone has been on a cruise to Alaska, live in Alaska, or have visited Alaska and have pictures, would you please post them and send me a message to view them. I am planning to go in the future and would like to see pictures you've taken.
thx
ONE thing to remember! Watch iso. It seems as though everything you think would be the sunny rule is often faster. The lighting is so clear and bright that many of my old photos were over exposed. Wished I'd known that before my trip in '97. Haven't been back since and I am hoping one day I get to again. Go to Denali, go to the off the beaten paths and go north to the "outback" out of Anchorage and Fairbanks to see the REAL Alaska. It is an awesome state

Thank you for the ISO tip. I will remember it when I go next year. I hope I can capture memories of a lifetime in my pictures.
