I'm not at all surprised. If you stay on the path as directed, the chances of getting the same angle as everyone are pretty good, I would think. When I shot this one there was a guy with a camera on a tripod maybe fifteen feet away...

I have such a souvenir from when I was ten and used to collect rocks. My neighbor pilfered me a beautiful piece ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shame on that neighbor!

The first time I was there, back in the early 70s, when you left they had an attendant who asked if you had taken any rocks out of the park. We said no, and drove away, whereupon my ex-wife emptied her pockets of a dozen or so pieces of wood that she had picked up along the way. She thought she was very clever, I guess. Lying was a talent she never stopped trying to perfect...

One of my favorite national parks to visit. The age of the petrified specimens for me is mind boggling. Every time I have been there I wonder to myself what the place looked like before it became a national park and before people took souvenirs home.

I passed this in 1988, can't remember how was it look like, I guess visitors only could remove small pieces, so the big stone are still around.... One should take pic at the shops who sell small samples, very interesting as well.
