Not a lodging suggestion but try to get a Wild Goose Island sunrise. It is nearer the eastern entrance though!

When I worke there on summer I was told that it was the most photographed place in the Americas. I doubt that is true but surly has to be one of them. Scenic beauty at its best. Most people are there mid day and the photos are ok but yours is spectacular.

It might be an exhausting drive from there to Glacier every day.
Your pet will be limiting in your touring of Glacier. No pets on the trails or in buildings.
Have you considered leaving it at home in a kennel?

We won't be taking many trails and we are aware of the no pets rule. We don't kennel her and we're fine with the rules regarding pets, we just cater our vacations around pet friendly areas. I thought someone would know of pet friendly lodging closer to the lake. She would probably be just fine for 6 to 8 hrs. alone, we just don't like leaving her that long.

From our research, Canada requires all of these pet vaccinations and we don't take vaccinations and we don't give our pup vaccinations.

The Great Bear Inn is near the western entrance. Contact them relative to pets, but they have 2 large dogs they own. The inn is excellent. Only issue is that you can hear trains go by at night - ear plugs helped.

That's not close, Many is on the Eastern side and the Inn is under new management and they are no longer pet friendly.
