That flap in the upper rear could be the edge of a rag top sunroof cover as seen in some of the pics in this search.

No, this an AI image.

Is everything okay with that picture?

The driver side wiper arm looks to be about an inch, or maybe a tad longer, with some odd something or other a little higher up on that side front glass.

What is the flap, or whatever, sticking up a bit at the top rear?

Where are the seat backs for the front seats?

IF that was a REAL model of some kind, was it a European model of a predecessor to the VW station wagon?
What was that station wagon called.....the VW Squareback?

And where is the drivers side door vertical seam?

Consensus: FAKE !

Agreed. I've seen so many Beetle mods that this could simply be another one.

Check out the drivers door below the handle. No seam for the door.

The roof looks wonky as well. Either a photo manipulation, or someone customized a VW Bug -- that still wouldn't explain the anomalies.

A good body man could do that; but the door gap seems to disappear below the door handle, the body extends over the running board, the engine compartment seems to be missing and the rear body to rear fender intersection is not like the original. Why would one stretch it and not add a door. There are stretched VW Bugs. https://barnfinds.com/sweet-stretch-1972-volkswagen-beetle-limo/

It may actually be a mod, somewhere, I s'pose, but the picture here has mods, or 'odds', that don't support its being a truly genuine photo of an actual realistic customized Bug.

Yeah, it may be tough to decifer the truth of the several anomolies without access to some original files, to help see if it's cagey file processing, sloppy file processing, artificial intelligence lack of intelligence, or a combination of things, which may be related to an actual customized Bug.

IF it is a messed up pic of an actual custom Bug, the engine 'could' be below a rear deck, VW bus / van style, and the body rear 'could' be quite straight, minus the distinctive Bug rounded shape.

As for the pic as a whole, there are too many disconnected items and disturbing oddities to be convincing that it is a genuine photo of a genuine Bug mod.

Maybe Bo and Luke parked the General Lee and switched to a custom Bug, fer better fuel economy ya know. 😋😋
They only use the windows fer going into and out of the rig, anyway, as they get chased around Hazard County by the likes of Roscoe P. Coltrain, Enis, and Boss Hogg.
