Change the timing. The court rules trump can be in ballot - and is elected but “ later” he is convicted in court in the smith trial.. that should mean trump would be out as president . Remember a pardon only commutes the sentence not the conviction.The choice for trump’s VP becomes very important doesn’t it?

It really does. Kind of like Biden's choice in Kamala. They choose a "minority", either by color of skin or their gender which will end up in votes.

Trump and MAGA sure wanted Obama to be disqualified under the "birther" conspiracy lies--were you screaming "let the voters decide" then, or would you have been okay with Obama being kept off state ballots if conspiracy was correct? I would.

I never understood all the noise about where Obama was born, other than Trump was able to use the noise to his benefit. Obama's mother was a US citizen. He would have been a natural born citizen no matter where he was born, and eligible to be president.

Trump isn't being punished. It's just a matter of qualification, much as if he would be under 35, or had already served 2 terms. He is not being threatened with imprisonment, or loss of money or other assets.

The trump cult is having a hard time understanding the problem with trump’s qualification, or more specifically his disqualification due to his actions leading up to and on January 6, 2021, to appear on the 2024 ballot across the country.

If another potential candidate from another party had done what trump did between election night in 2020 up to and on January 6, 2021, the GOP would be screaming from the rooftops that that candidate shouldn't be allowed on the 2024 ballot.

The plaintiffs in the Colorado suit are actually four Republicans and two Independents. No Democrats sued in Colorado to keep Trump off the ballot. None! So I'm not sure how the lawsuit shows "just how scared the Democrats are of Trump running for President." Since the lawsuit was filed on behalf of Republicans and Independents, perhaps the lawsuit shows that they care about our country more than you do.

All supreme court justices in Colorado were appointed by democrats and are democrats. That's how scared the demonrats are of Trump.

Once again, the plaintiffs in the litigation are Republicans and Independents, not Democrats. But for these Republicans and Independents who believe Trump should be off the ballot because of his post election insurrection crime spree, the case never would have been before the court.

You really need to check your facts. Trump did not cause any of what happened on the 6th. He called for a "peaceful protest". Of course you know that but insist on your childish "insurrection" label regardless of the facts. Tell me what you have called Trump supporters?
