If it was just a bit bigger the littlest one might tempted to try to go for a ride.
Yeah, Rob. That would be interesting. At one of the county parks out here they used to have rails laid for what I think is #1 gauge where the engineer can actually sit on his locomotive or tender. Anyway a few yeas back, a morbidly obese woman was trying to walk and tripped over one of the rails. And of course, lawsuits came about and they pulled the rails. It was fun to watch them while it last. A lot of work went into those trains.

East of us in Riverside CA they have a place called Hobby Park that has "Live Steamers" on that scale and there is another in Orange County west of here near the coast.

A great outdoor set up and the kids look like they're having a good time and Lionel looks like a champ.

Thanks for posting this great set - love the pic with the fascinated children. I know for a fact they will remember this all their lives. I am in my 70's and anyone who came to our house at Christmas always remembers the train set under the tree.

Today may be the last of the warm days in our area for awhile. A family down the street saw me working on my railroad and just had to stop by.

Your first image say's it all. Four adorable Kids admiring your layout. I am very fortunate to have 12 beautiful great grandkids and they all love our Christmas tree. It is fully decorated 100% with RR ornaments of all shapes and sizes.

I do have most all of the Hallmark train series.

I've been to Hobby Park and have seen the track, but no trains at the time.

Thank you for looking! Oh, everyone in my family will sure remember me and my Christmas trains. I am going for a record six separate trains under the tree this year, one of which is a K Line Union Pacific Big Boy # 4014 that I just bought for myself as a retirement gift to myself. It should be interesting.

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised when I download these pics. It's pretty funny comparing me to you. You do have me beat. I am at 16, but it is a mix of grandkids and great grandkids. We also have a ton of Hallmark train ornaments and others. Probably enough not to need any other type of ornament, but that would not fly too well with the wife. Which reminds me, we have a lot of airplane ornaments also. Lol.

Love it. My 3 yr. old twin grandsons love going to the train museum in old Sacramento. I can see how much work you put into it. Really cool.
