A true beauty!

Yes, it is. It's a shame that we'll never see cars with such individuality again....too many rules and regulations.

Tom, what discussion of exquisite French automobiles would be complete without the inclusion of Lt. Columbo's 1959 Peugeot 403? I'm a little surprised, that this wasn't mentioned...aren't you? "Oh, just one more little question, m'am..."

The Delage, Delahaye, Talbot-Lago (all French) and the lone Italian Bugatti always grab my attention. I consider them among the most beautiful autos ever made. Just look at that,Tom...the Gina Lollabrigida (in her heyday) of automobiles. Beautiful captures.

Don't forget to mention Citroen (also French) in that group. I believe that in cars beautiful function equals beautiful car!

Lord have mercy on me....how could I have forgotten Columbo's cherished ride ? I hope it's not ordained that I will have to ride around in that thing as punishment for my sin.

Citroen ? Well, I guess there's room for all philosophies. I didn't include that car for fear of being hit by a lightning strike.

Pray, not for eternity, Tom. See, there is a Hell!

Or a Deux Chevaux (2CV) for you to drive in the afterlife.

One of these Peugeots, not the convertible, was the first car I bought when I was stationed at Hickam AFB in Honolulu, Hawaii from 1965 to 1968. One thing I think most people aren't aware of is that Honolulu is lousy with cockroaches. After having the car for about a week I opened the truck and dozens, if not a hundred, roaches scurred around trying to find a place to hide. I got a can of Raid, closed the windows and emptied that can in the car. The next morning there were dead roaches all over the place. Swept and vacuumed them out and didn't have a problem with that car after that as long as I had it, which wasn't that long - at least as far as the roaches were concerned. Other problems, yes, but no roaches.
