I'll give that a try. I put a brand new MC in the computer but the computer didn't read it, but I didn't format that new MC either, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try. I would never waste spirits on an MC card. I'm not that desperate. LOL

I've never had luck getting an SD card to show up in my computer, so what I do is attach the camera directly to it with a mini-usb cable. Boot up the camera once it's connected to a usb port. No harm in trying.

I put the MC in a "reader" I think it is called, then plugged the reader into another USB port on my computer and downloaded it like that. A circuitous route but I can view the images now.

Get all of the pictures off of that card. Start over with a new one, formatted in the camera. Just a thought.

I'm not sure where to post this so I guess admin. will put it where it belongs. Last month, out of the blue, my Dell SSD computer would not/could not display my MC when I put it in the slot to download images I took with my D7200. I've been doing this for years with no issues and when I tried to import these new images, using Microsoft Photos like I always do, it wouldn't display my Nikon D7200 prompt to start the import procedure. It still shows my Toshiba ext. drive like it always did but not the Nikon D7200 prompt. Also, when I use the slideshow feature the photos seem to have been enlarged so that a lot of my heads and feet are cut off. (I know questionable syntax.) I think MS did some kind of update last month which is the source of my hassle. I called a computer geek friend, and he suggested a 7 or 8-step procedure which is really labor-intensive. I recently took some shots with my iPhone 12 and he advised me to get a USB-C cable, which I did, and the computer recognized this I Phone immediately but not the Nikon MC. I'm seeking help for this issue. I don't know what to do. I'm pretty much computer illiterate so if you have any suggestions, please keep it simple. I downloaded Photos Legacy but that didn't resolve my problem. TIA, MM

I have the same problem but none of the suggestions offered here solved it. Apparently something is wrong with my computer. CAn this be repaired and if so how expensive would the repair be? Thanks'

In my original post, I mentioned the same day I had trouble with my computer not initiating my Nikon d7200 prompt to import, I eventually discovered all the images in the slideshow feature in Photos were enlarged so that the top and bottom parts of the images were cut off. I think this was caused by a Microsoft update. I finally put the MC in a "card reader" (I think it's called) that I use with my laptop and then plugged the reader into a USB port on my computer and finally the computer showed the Nikon d7200 prompt in the "External Devices" on the left sidebar and in the bar on top where it always showed up before, allowing me to import the images off the MC. There were a lot of suggestions and I tried various ones and kept banging around until I stumbled upon this fix. Hope this helps. MM

Thanks. I went round and round with MS before agreeing with them that I had a hard ware issue.

My Dell Inspiron periodically will not recognize memory cards and/or USB flash drives.
In my case this appears to be related to my use of a USB hub. If I shut down the PC and disconnect the hub, then reboot and plug in the card reader directly to a USB port on the PC (not using the hub at all) after the reboot is complete, the PC will recognize the card.

I realize this is somewhat different from your scenario, but it might be helpful.
