Adorable creatures and you did a great job of capturing a special moment in time. I always try to keep in mind that we have invaded their habitat, they have not invaded ours. We must learn to share our Planet with other lifeforms for it will be a sad day when mankind is the last species standing.

Can raccoons be destructive to our homes at times? Yes, they can. Can humans be destructive to their homes? Absolutely and we continue to do so for we believe that we have the right to do it.

As a kid I found a young racoon that had lost on of it's legs. Brought it home fed and cared for it while the leg healed. Zeke became a household pet, very affectionate. The problem was they are nocturnal animals and Zeke would wonder the house all night and get into everything that was not stored. Eventually he joined his friends in the wild. For a short time he would come back for a visit. A wonderful experience.

Great captures for sure!! Racoons can be "hell on wheels" for some homeowners.

Thank you for your perspective and comments. I agree. Whatever damage raccoons have done to human structures, I know of no case where they have killed humans and turned them into articles of clothing.

Great set! They are cute but they are also wild animals and deadly predators. We lost of our chickens to raccoons last Summer.

Growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota, there were always a few coons around.

We grew lots of corn, and in the field near our house my dad would plant a row or two of sweet corn in with the field corn. Even if those rows of sweet corn were in the middle of the field, the coons would always find it. They would ignore row after row of field corn, and decimate the sweet corn.

When my daughters were young they would feed a mother racoon and her three kits Oriole cookies. The four would arrive every night, at the same time. Peeking in the sliding glass door for us to respond.

Good shots! They are cute, but dangerous. I had a friend who tried to run one off with a broom as it was trying to catch one of her ducks. It turned and jumped on her, chewing up her face, neck and arm to the tune of 187 stitches at the ER. Her husband heard her screaming and ran out to be the hero!

ALSO, had another friend who enjoyed watching them eat cat food with her cats for 2 years. Then there were 50 of them and when animal control captured them, they found several had illness from eating cat food all the time and those had to be destroyed.

Also had one in my barn. I opened the hay room door and he was up on the hay...started growling at me and coming down toward me. I went back to the house and got my Annie Oakley and took care of that.
