So, no one can tell me how to move that LCD monitor? It's packed in its box now, so I can't try it, but it would be nice to know.

During our wedding many years ago, my father-in-law was surprised that his roll of 36 exposures was heading to over forty. Then he found out that the film never got caught on the take-up spool. Lots of other people took pictures, so it wasn't an issue.

Making sure that the film is caught by the take-up spool is an important part of being methodical - as most of us discovered at some time or another.

Read your responses, Jerry; JDCard answered your question, saying it was easy and providing directions.

with manual film advance you can twist the rewind handle to test that film is engaged but you can’t do that with automatic film advance.

I thought DJCard answered that on page 1?

When I shot film (started in 1973) I ALWAYS made sure the film was on the reel. I think I lost one photo per roll, but it was worth it.

I basically do that now.

It’s easy! Pull LCD screen rearward using tab in upper left hand corner. Then, pull straight backward. Gently pull the right side rearward which releases LCD screen further and also allows left-to-right tilt. To return, push entire screen back toward camera until it clicks!

Thanks!

I saw that tab in the upper left, but the amount of force I applied did nothing. I had expected it to move as easily as other tilting screens.

I am still stuck in the 70s-80s when it comes to video and the tilt screen. Haven't used either on my D or Z bodies. I always read Z questions as there is soooooo much to learn.

It shouldn’t need instructions

I moved the LCD screen on my Pentax KP without reading the instructions - it just moved where I wanted it to be.

Same with my K-1, it was very easy to open and rotate. Ah, sweet Pentax memories. I switched to Nikon in 2018.
