Naive to think that is a fair assessment.

A flat tax would theoretically be a lot more fair, but the wealthy are able to duck the personal income amounts they should be declaring.

Talk to Warren Buffet about paying taxes.

NAIVE? "Pay fair share" is the siren song of the lefties for years. It is naive to believe that all this "fair share" stuff is going to solve the problems that the dems have created by spending more than the country can afford. Printing more money and raising the debt limit are not good options. That is just kicking the can down the road. No need for you to respond. You have proved your lack of knowledge in Economics.

Do you have ANY formal education to support your position? Perhaps a degree in Economics or an MBA in Finance and Economics? Anything other than political rhetoric?

Trump organization doesn't mean that it was Trump that violated the law unless he knew it was occurring or was involved. Trump was not named on that conviction and guess who was involved in trying to get Trump, no other that politically motivated Trump hater Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Just saying the other things without evidence is just pure speculation. So why isn't Trump in prison for tax fraud?

Trump Org is wholly owned by Trump.

You continue to make it quite clear that you are indeed a paper a-h! You started the political rhetoric with your little arrogant leftie remarks, so quiet down, little man!

How many threads have you questioned the education of any who make a statement or offer an opinion? You're a real beauty!

Awww, the little fly, the nastiest caricature on the forum, buzzes in again. Lol!

Any who check your posting record can easily see what a POS you are and by far the most prolific.

BTW, I'm only nasty to those who are nasty to me.

The Terrorist Party (formerly known as the Republican Party), does NOT want any cuts to defense as they are completely OK with the FACT that military contractors bloat their costs. It is said that almost half of the $842 BILLION defense budget goes to defense contractors.

Instead, they want to cut programs like SNAP that are geared towards feeding low-income, disabled and the elderly. This INCLUDES the men and women of the military who came back home with disabilities... the VERY SAME people you claim you support!

Compassion abounds in the party of terrorists!

In order to receive SNAP benefits, your income must be at or below 130 percent of the poverty line and there are 37.9 Million citizens in this country who fit that bill.

A family of 4, making $30,000 (2023 estimate) would get $939 a month from snap.

For the math illiterates....

$30,000/year is $2500/month.
$939 in SNAP benefits, per month, equals and additional $31 per day for the entire family.
That $31 per day, allows each member of that family to have an additional $2.60 per meal (3 meals per day).
(These numbers are approximate but close enough to make the point).

How many of you, who have a family of 4, can live on $41,268 (or less) a year?

Use the link below to see how many in YOUR state are on this program.

I'm totally on board with you on the defense budget. But regarding your family of 4 and $41,000. I am not familiar with all the requirements for all the government assistance programs, but there is a possibility that those people also get energy assistance, transportation assistance, school lunches, medicaid and section 8 vouchers. So that could possibly add 20,000 or more to that 'Income" figure. Just a thought.

Part of the GOP demands in order to do their job and increase the debt ceiling is to cut the increased funding to improve the IRS. They would rather we wait forever to get our pittance of a tax refund than have the rich actually pay what they owe (as little as it is now after their big tax giveaways).

Although it is true that the Republicans have wanted to pull back the funding for some 87,000 new hires at the IRS, it is ridiculous to say that supports tax cheats.

So many people in this country boast about living in the greatest country on earth. There is a price to pay for living in such a great place and you pay that in taxes which support our law enforcement, military, beautiful public spaces and economic benefits (social security, medicare, etc.) that so many receive. If you think you pay too much in taxes in the USA and you aren't getting good value for your taxes, please stop whining and crying and just move to another country.

That’s a great idea, move so we can make more room for under educated, low wage earners (you know, immigrants) to join the 41% of our population who have no skin in the federal income tax scheme.

Since the money is intended to improve tax compliance, cutting it does the opposite, and the result is that tax cheats get away with cheating.

By the way, that 87000 figure is a false interpretation of what the money is for; it is an amount equivalent to that many new hires, but that isn't what the money is earmarked for.

Maybe Biden should just slow down, within a couple of years we can just put ChatGPT on the job.

Oh... you are BRILLIANT!

Who do you think will fill those jobs that the "under educated, low wage earners" currently fill?
