Part of the GOP demands in order to do their job and increase the debt ceiling is to cut the increased funding to improve the IRS. They would rather we wait forever to get our pittance of a tax refund than have the rich actually pay what they owe (as little as it is now after their big tax giveaways).

Every year our government (your savior) takes billions of dollars of citizens' money and holds it until the citizen "files" a claim for the return of their own money. That government pays NOTHING for the use of the citizens' interest free money! Common sense might not be in evidence for this to occur but you find great joy in having your own money returned to you. The Terrorist Party (formerly known as the Republican Party), does NOT want any cuts to defense as they are completely OK with the FACT that military contractors bloat their costs. It is said that almost half of the $842 BILLION defense budget goes to defense contractors.

Instead, they want to cut programs like SNAP that are geared towards feeding low-income, disabled and the elderly. This INCLUDES the men and women of the military who came back home with disabilities... the VERY SAME people you claim you support!

Compassion abounds in the party of terrorists!

In order to receive SNAP benefits, your income must be at or below 130 percent of the poverty line and there are 37.9 Million citizens in this country who fit that bill.

A family of 4, making $30,000 (2023 estimate) would get $939 a month from snap.

For the math illiterates....

$30,000/year is $2500/month.
$939 in SNAP benefits, per month, equals and additional $31 per day for the entire family.
That $31 per day, allows each member of that family to have an additional $2.60 per meal (3 meals per day).
(These numbers are approximate but close enough to make the point).

How many of you, who have a family of 4, can live on $41,268 (or less) a year?

The IRS is using outdated infrastructure to do a critical job. Personally, I don't like having to wait 3-6 months for a response from the IRS on my taxes.

The IRS only takes money that you have told them to take. Don't tell them to take so much.

I don't take great joy in having the money the IRS holds returned to me, but it's only a few thousand dollars.

The reason this money was allocated to the IRS was to improve their efficiency. If they don't collect taxes, then we just run bigger deficits.

Finally, I am glad you recognize the stupidity of your ancestors; maybe you can do something about it. Like don't have any more spawn.

So many people in this country boast about living in the greatest country on earth. There is a price to pay for living in such a great place and you pay that in taxes which support our law enforcement, military, beautiful public spaces and economic benefits (social security, medicare, etc.) that so many receive. If you think you pay too much in taxes in the USA and you aren't getting good value for your taxes, please stop whining and crying and just move to another country.
