Whew...!! it is humid today. I will mow the grass this evening if it doesn't rain (I'm doing a rain dance where the Better Half won't see me) and I wanted to get a few shots before I mow these little beauties down.
I've included a view of the camera and Do-It-Yourself diffuser that I use for my macro walkabout sessions. It's a large cottage cheese container that I lined with aluminum foil. I cut out the center of the lid leaving only the ring. I placed a piece of white polyester no-rip cloth and stretched it over the end of the container and placed the ring over it to hold it in place. That worked perfectly.
I shoot in manual mode at ISO 200 and an aperture of f/20 between 160 to 1/200 second. The speedlight flash is set to manual and set to 1/8 to 1/4 power duration depending upon the ambient light and how much I want to darken or black out the background.

Gee. What a surprise, Gary. Spectacular pics of everyday things.

Thank you for sharing. Was up in our State Forest and observed similar wild flowers in the past. Nice capture of the details . Makes me want to go back up to the forest.
Thanks, BocaMac. I believe there is beauty in even the smallest of nature's flowers when we look closely at them.
Beautiful work. I did this but not as well some decades ago, now if I get down ...well that's where I stay.
Oh, Artcameraman, I can relate to that..! I've often thought of carrying a small pillow to take a nap while I'm down there for it will take me a bit to get back up.
