If I had known, and maybe I should have, this post would turn into a mirrorless vs mirrored I wouldn't have posted it. Shoot what you want guys, I don't care.

UHHers will talk about what is on their minds and in their hearts. You are the one with the clickbait title which includes mirrorless, and you made the comment that maybe one day you will go mirrorless. What did you expect the reaction to that was going to be? You were kind of asking for it. LOL

Relax, cheers and best to you.

Maybe one day I'll go mirrorless if I get bad GAS, live long enough, or some unforeseeable event causes me to. I know it's the future but I have really gotten some good deals on some great gear in the last few months and for that I've got to say thanks to some of you who have gone mirrorless. I made the move to full frame with a used D850, bought used Nikkor lenses: 14-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, all f2.8s, and a Nikkor 200-500mm. Camera and lenses all in excellent to like new condition and US models as well. The lens at about 1/2 price of new or even less.
Maybe I'll switch to mirrorless when the next big development takes place but for now I'm happy and believe I will be for the foreseeable future. I hope it doesn't get to the point Tums doesn't work anymore.
Maybe one day I'll go mirrorless if I get bad GAS,... (show quote)

Good for you! Your F mount lenses will work on a Nikon mirrorless if you ever get one. Ypu have saved yourself a lot of $$$.

I use a lot of my F mount lenses on my Nikon Z9. And I still use my D500 and D850.

Is there something in particular you wanted us to notice ? Perhaps in the tighter crop ? If so, you neglected to point it out.

The newest mirrorless cameras don't suffer from the same battery limitations of the older models.

Since my new mirrorless has to operate an IBIS as well as the viewfinder/LCD screen for composing/focusing, I'm not holding it against the camera for using batteries faster. Then again, it did come with a "bigger" battery (more amp/hours) than my older camera. And I can still use the spares from the old camera.

Oh God. Do not purchase a new camera body just before a big trip. Give yourself 4-6 months to completely adapt to the inevitable "little changes" even within the same camera system. As a Photo Safari group in Kenya we (the group) made a couple stay at the lodge two days because they were badgering others re settings for their new camera that they "forgot" to bring the manual for.

The trip isn’t happening until December and I’m hoping to buy it in April if the taxman isn’t too brutal or May if they want me to do my share making a payment on the interest accumulating on the national embarrassment, er Federal debt.

The three lens you purchased work great on my z6/2. I have no z lens and probably won’t buy any. Great deals can be found on used F lens now.

My Nikon D7000 had over 140,000 shutter releases so I bought a Nikon D7500. I have a mirrorless Sony A6000, but I hate having to constantly turn it back on and carrying 5 spare batteries, because that camera eats them alive. It is light weight though.

I, too, have the d7000 & d7500 and have no plans to get rid of them as they do everything I want & more. I also have a d5500 with an 18-140 lens on it for when I want to go lighter & smaller until I can afford a z50. It makes a very satisfactory combo for street or museum photography.

Stunning views in Hawaii. 3 years of planning hikes. Several months pay for accommodations. My 5d mark iii and 150-600 lens for birding ended up in the hotel room because hiking with it in the heat was miserable. Carried my 7d with my kit 24-200 mm canon lens. Broke my heart but at least I didn’t die of heat stroke. I am super grateful I invested in my iphone 14. I hate to give up my gear and really sad that I probably won’t get anything for it selling it on a flooded market

Another great CHG_CANON-ism. I always love them. You could write them down and sell as a book.

Doubtful it would ever make the best seller list.

BTW, if any of you folks are making any photos with your smartphones, you are using a mirrorless camera.

Cheers and best to you all.
