Oh s**t Jerry, it seems like a continuing story. I have no answer. I am on my second year with them and I am happy. AT&T has a crappy reputation around here for both phone and internet service and their customer support is terrible at best as reported by customers. I have had no problems with Spectrum. When I did call I actually got a live human who spoke English because I needed to renew service for this year. The walk in store close to me is excellent. I need to shut up now because I see a pattern in several ways but I hope you can get it all worked out.
Onward through the fog bro.
Bruce.

Thanks. The first step is the Ooma box, then YouTube.

I received an ad from spectrum last summer about a government assistance program for zero dollars. Of course I checked it out, I qualified but it was only 100 gig so I declined. The guy then called me back and told me I could 500 gig for $14.95 thru the same gov. program. I bit and reduced my monthly Internet cost from $49.95 a month. I am saving a bunch. Internet is the only thing I buy from Spectrum, I'm in Cincinnati. I would check with Spectrum and see if this program in good in your area and it is locked in for 3 years.

Wrong. Sniff again: https://www.fcc.gov/acp

Several neighbors at my last apartment complex were enrolled. I used it for a month, then moved and got an offer that negated the value.

I've got to call these people and drop TV and phone. The bill is up to $203. They charge $150 for all three, but they add $10 Internet, $6 TV, $24.90 Other Charges, and $12.10 Taxes, Fees, and Charges.

I'll have to connect the Ooma box for the phone and sign up with YouTube TV. Then I'll make the dreaded call to Spectrum.

This companies rather spend billions( that's right .billions with a B) to suck in new customers than to work with old loyal customers that have be with them more that 5 or 10 years and keep them happy.so what do they do. they try to screw their old loyal customers. We had a 13 year relation with sprint.we had 5 phone on one plan.every time we would replace a phone or add something we would get hit with 5 plans.one for each phone.i would have to call them and explain that we had the family plan and not individually plans.we got fed up so we switched.

Yeah the business model has changed. They used to reward loyal customers but now they reward unloyal customers.

More and more customers are dropping Spectrum because they raise their fees four or five times a year. Because of the loss of customers, Spectrum punishes their long-time loyal customers by raising their fees to make up for the loss of their other customers. It's a vicious cycle.

Check out Pluto TV it's free.

Even though I cut the cable about nine months ago, streaming can be expensive also. There are a lot of services and the prices range from about 6.00 a month to around 90.00 for just one of these services. I was doing good on saving around 140.00 a month after cutting the cable and signing up for some basic programming like Hulu + which gives me Hulu, ESPN +, and Disney + for about 15.00 a month. I added another service for around 6.00, and another for around 15.00. This worked well until Pro Football and College Basketball began. To get a good selection of games I had to add Sling. I will be canceling them at the end of March when March Madness is over. I hope to find a better alternative next November when I want to see that programming again. They have gotten on my bad side! The first month was a special half-off offer -- 25.00 from their regular 50.00. A month later they sent a notice saying they were going up to 55.00. Now two months after that, they billed me for 60.00! At this rate, they will be over a hundred by the end of the year! I also picked up Big10 for about 11.00 a month and will end that at the end of March as well. I will be picking up a baseball package for around 70.00 but that is a one-time charge and I will be able to watch about 95% of the Cardinal games including playoffs and World Series (hopefully). They black out games that are prime-time games like the game of the week on one of the major networks. This happens only a few times a year. As for movies, Hulu has a nice selection and between it and Disney there isn't much I miss. Last year Hulu had the golf package but this year it is on Peacock which is still a lower-cost provider. At the end of March, I should be back to where there is about 100.00 a month saving from the old cable bill.

Yes, just Internet. I dread calling because I know it will be like calling XM Radio - trying to persuade me to stay. Maybe I'll call tomorrow. I was too involved with other things to do anything with the phone or YouTube today. "Tomorrow" is a great word. I'll have to figure how much I'll be paying YouTube and Ooma and make sure I don't wind up paying more with Spectrum cable.

My set up.
T-Mobile modem (gets me Internet plus streaming tv chanels $50/ month).
Roku Ultra cost $80 to buy and no monthly fee. Streams everything. but you may have to pay for HBO etc if you want that and other services. Most free
Tv antenna $39 from Home Depot. Installed myself. Gets all National TV stations in HD plus about 60 misc channels. No monthly cost. I used the cables left by a Cable Company to distribute service through out the house
Tablo (Off air DVR) cost $100 from Best Buy. no monthly cost. Allows me to record all channels from the Antenna.
2 Mobile phones using T-Mobile. Unlimited calls, data and messages. $ 30 ea per month. I gave up the Land Line. Don't need it. I use "Face time" to call relatives in UK every week. No cost

I'm a cheap skate.
