Well, someone (mtg) needs a reality check, because without funding to sustain a secession, that secession is doomed to fail.

That's what mtg hasn't realized, her off the wall propaganda ideas are doomed to fail when saner minds prevail.

The question needs to be asked, will those saner minds be able to regain control of the GOP before mtg burns the party and the country down?

I have no doubt that nothing will come of it. But yes, most red states could not fund themselves, and that means blue states wouldn't be stuck paying the bills.

MTG and GADS are the poster children for why people should vote Democratic.

You are giving them too much credit. Even the Jews can't invent something capable of locating a pea sized object from outer space

I wish MTG would vaporize and her idea is ridiculous but your and 1948’s proposition that red states couldn’t fund themselves seems ludicrous. Take my state for instance, the person that most think has the inside track for the Democratic ticket should Joe not run took 151 billion in federal Covid relief from the feds and turned that into a 25 billion deficit a year later. Red states won’t incentivize illegal immigration by providing free medical to 2.5 million illegal residents, float ridiculous unaffordable reparations bills and deal with the cost of rampant crime to the in blue states compared to the blue states who also deal with crime. I believe the Red states would have more natural gas, minerals and oil and manufacturing. I think if you look at the cost of operating the blue states, businesses and occupants leaving blue states for more tax friendly states, economically they would do just fine.

When red states have to pay their own way, expect taxes to go up!

I read the Newsweek article and I actually like Professor Jason Nichols. He is a very bright young man and a persuasive purveyor of all things liberal. In this article in order to demonstrate red states inability to stand on their own two feet he uses such stats as 8 of the top 10 states with the highest murder rates voted for trump which would obviously lead one to believe that the red states can’t even manage the crime rates they always complain about. We see how easy it is to skew statistics (both sides do it) to sell your position. Although what he said is statistically true one needs to drill down to illuminate the truth. Crime is a local problem managed (or not) at the local level. If we look at the cities that mostly contribute to the statewide statistics we see Jackson, Mississippi - New Orleans, La. - Louisville, Kentucky- Fairfield, Alabama - St Louis, Missouri- Dillon County/Florence, South Carolina- Gallup, New Mexico - Little Rock, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee all run by Democrats and 6/8 by African Americans. I’m sure other facts used in the article could be challenged as well. Although states like Mississippi may be more dependent on the federal government than some blue states they didn’t piss through 151 billion in COVID relief in one year like California because they only received 1.8 billion (.01% of what Cali got).

What does “ run by African Americans “ have to do with it’s opposed to European Americans
Or Asian Americans.

Not sure how the worlds continent of ancestors connects to American crime rates?

Wow, starting to know you Denny, I knew you would pick up on that and because, I almost left it out but didn’t as a peremptory strike. You are right, in the context of the rest of my statement, it is irrelevant. My point is that they are all Democrats but since all of the cities (save for Gallup) have a large Black population I didn’t want to hear the tired racist policy argument. But in retrospect, you are right, I should have omitted that fact.

The same way blue states fund their governments. Oh and BTW where are the blue states going to get their food?

Probably from the Chinese if we don’t pivot.

Thanks

It is my belief that cities are predominant democratic because the inhabitants (black white yellow green) are accustom to government provided services ( fire transportation Water garbage police )and the democratic party is noted for that .
Where as Republican are predominantly rural because we are accustomed to fending for ourselves.

Then pile on top of that the history. Of past prejudiced. In housing hiring etc The blacks community lives where they get these service even though they not educated and can’t find jobs For hiring intodays world.
It all starts with jobs but business won’t go where there is an uneducated crime ridden. Work force and the cycle continues. No jobs , no. Money . No taxes for better education opps no jobs ..

The really scary thing about the leader of McCarthy's Q-tard/Santos majority is that she is a ...RE-ELECTED ... Q-tard.

Re-elected by 30 scary points! What happened to RR's 'Grand Old Party' (fair dinkum, proper, real conservatives)

I never liked Ronnie or Mommie but they don't look too bad now that the booger-eaters run the show.

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) touched a nerve across the political spectrum this week with her call for a “national divorce” that echoed the nation’s history surrounding secessionism.

Greene’s call for the U.S. to be split into two nations of red and blue states has infuriated members of both parties, while giving Republicans an unwanted headache. While Greene is known for incendiary rhetoric sure to provoke Democrats and Republicans alike, her words take on new importance now that she is a key ally of Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and serves on the House Homeland Security Committee. She also has her eyes on a possible vice presidential bid on a ticket led by former President Trump.”
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3870038-greene-stirs-up-political-storm-with-national-divorce-comments/

The oath of office that the members of House and Senate is:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

In Texas v. White, 74 U.S. 700 (1868)US Supreme Court:
States do not have the right to unilaterally secede from the United States, so the Confederate states during the Civil War always remained part of the nation.

https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/74/700/
It looks like from her comments that she violated her oath of office – should she be censored again?

By the way – I’m with those that think she’s an idiot – we are facing issues from Russia, China, North Korea and Iran and this moron wants to divide the country? She’s beyond stupid.

And before the ultra conservatives rant – yes there are idiots on the Dems side, but none are crying or suggesting to divide the country.
“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) touched a ner... (show quote)

She isn't the only one that needs to be sensored or removed. I believe several senators and house members along with the president need to be held accountable to the oath they took freely.

If by "1948" you are referring to me you are attributing someone else's words to me. I made one response in this thread and it had nothing to do with what you are claiming.
