“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) touched a nerve across the political spectrum this week with her call for a “national divorce” that echoed the nation’s history surrounding secessionism.

Greene’s call for the U.S. to be split into two nations of red and blue states has infuriated members of both parties, while giving Republicans an unwanted headache. While Greene is known for incendiary rhetoric sure to provoke Democrats and Republicans alike, her words take on new importance now that she is a key ally of Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and serves on the House Homeland Security Committee. She also has her eyes on a possible vice presidential bid on a ticket led by former President Trump.”

The oath of office that the members of House and Senate is:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

In Texas v. White, 74 U.S. 700 (1868)US Supreme Court:
States do not have the right to unilaterally secede from the United States, so the Confederate states during the Civil War always remained part of the nation.

It looks like from her comments that she violated her oath of office – should she be censored again?

By the way – I’m with those that think she’s an idiot – we are facing issues from Russia, China, North Korea and Iran and this moron wants to divide the country? She’s beyond stupid.

And before the ultra conservatives rant – yes there are idiots on the Dems side, but none are crying or suggesting to divide the country.

A recent survey by the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia found that about 50 percent of Donald Trump voters and 40 percent of Joe Biden voters agreed to some extent with the proposition that the country should split up, with either red or blue states seceding.

We either go back to the support for the Constitution as written or we divide the nation and go to war to see who wins.
At this point we are beyond compromise and debate. Democrats want total government control and conservatives want Constitutional liberty. There are RINOs who will always side with the democrats as has been exposed by Trump and they are also for total government control of all aspects of individuals like the democrats.

The trouble with splitting along party lines (red/blue states) is that the blue states would be divided (ie, they are predominantly coastal states). But maybe that is part of her strategy (man, I would hate to give her credit for thinking that deeply).

Hawaii and Alaska are continentally divided from the 48 states.

The other problem which mtg doesn't, or failed to address, is how are the red states going to fund their government?

She also suggested that any Democrat who moves to a Red State be prohibited from voting for 5 years.

Where did her brain go?

Did she ever have one in the first place?

I've heard the Gnarly Tailor refered to, in this place, as a ... "strong CONSERVATIVE woman that scares you to death!!"

Conservative? Really? She really scares McCarthy to death as well as me and the Rothschilds and even Q

Now that is a question I really don't care about.

And give Texas back to Mexico.

Well, someone (mtg) needs a reality check, because without funding to sustain a secession, that secession is doomed to fail.

That's what mtg hasn't realized, her off the wall propaganda ideas are doomed to fail when saner minds prevail.

The question needs to be asked, will those saner minds be able to regain control of the GOP before mtg burns the party and the country down?

She would be surprised if the majority vote was the criteria vs the Gerrymandered color.

That is an idea that's going hopefully nowhere.
