I'd rather "they" stop spending over and above the national income. Taxing vices never works, because folks will always find a way to get around sin taxes.

The only Zippo I have is unique - at least to me.

Ok, time to start some sh-tuff. The Zippo has a Canon camera on it, used to be in full color. Red Canon letters with yellow and black camera body.

My take? If it had a Nikon camera body the flame would be brighter !! And Higher!!!

Yes, that would be even better. But until then I'd settle for the sin tax.

Isn't it typical that 'they' would legalize an addictive product, get people hooked and then tax the-sin-out of them.

I find it odd that anyone who tells a Dr they have smoked at anytime for any length that gets any kind of cancer it is attributed to smoking. I have had 5 friends due from cancer. 3 from lung cancer 2 of those very young and very healthy never smoked nor did their parents. No answers from the Dr. I'm sure a great uncle must have smoked. That was probably the cause. Anyone with half a brain knows smoking is bad for you but I find it impossible to believe every cancer in a smoker is caused by smoking. If so I wonder why so many non smokers due from or get cancer?

I am 80 years old and I am not an advocate for smoking, not at all, but I have been a smoker for 65 years and still going, doctors I talk to say that non-smokers get lung cancer just as much as smokers, 50/50. Every time I have a chest X-ray my lungs are clear, last one about a year ago.

Mine just lit campfires. I put it up finally because it leaked lighter fluid so much.

One interesting fact from the medical community is that smokers are far less likely to get Covid than others.
Go figure.

When I was still smoking I retired my Zippo when butane lighters became available. I got tired of years of having a rash from keeping my cigarettes and Zippo lighter in my breast pocket where the lighter fluid was constantly leaking onto my left breast! But I did eventually quit smoking in 1984, after 25 years!

I did find info that indicates smokers with Covid were less likely to be hospitalized than non smokers. That is still surprising to me.

I too find it almost antithetical, or a mental non-sequitur for this. Still researching and talking within groups for a viable realistic answer.

Here is a list that refers to studies done so far, yet far from complete.

This list presents both sides of the issue in an effort to be candid and truthful in my assessments. I still am looking for the comment by one medical doctor that claimed in all of his Covid patients during the crisis he had not one of his patients as a smoker - former or active I don't recall.

But to me as a natural health advocate - in all transparencies (as the saying goes today) I am an advocate of both the Natural remedies -Naturopathic -and health protocols, where applicable, and the allopathic ie. AMA interventions/ applied medical approach, again where applicable. Namely the blending of the two systems. They both have their place. No need to go into the reasonings or experiences for this opinion.
