Yes, in my case I made a "loooot" of grammatical errors but I like it when I get corrected, I am, still at my age learning. Like one or two here love to say " Its not my native tong"

I honestly appreciate your comment. Even as well as I write and with few errors I still do appreciate when someone points out an error I have made. It seems I am different from others who complain about people like me who occasionally mention errors in grammar and spelling. I do not want to continue making errors that make it appear I have no education. I want to know when I make a mistake. I thank those who point out my errors and have many times mentioned that if I make an error then I want to be told.

The other half of that coin is that when people write to tell me of my errors I can usually point out errors in their post. It makes it a comedy show for both of us.

I've always found it interesting that about everyone that walks into first grade can already speak English. The next 12 years they are taught English, and most of them walk out of high school speaking exactly as the did when they walked in. They have no clue how to replace a light switch, fix a commode, build a deck, change a tire, or do much of anything useful, and they still can't diagram a sentence, or spell worth a damn.

Your experience is completely different from mine and my education. Most of my classmates have gone on to be writers, businessmen and women, teachers and so on with an excellent command of the English language. But they have also attended classes in Home Economics and Shop where we did learn to fix common electrical and plumbing problems as well as basic carpentry skills. I feel sorry for you that your school apparently did not teach those subjects. Truly a loss for humanity.

We are talking about all misspelled words, grammatical errors and so on and now you tell us with a straight face that they are intentional. Oh my, my, my. I guess if you truly believe that then there is no discussing it any longer.

Dennis

Your wrong again, and you know it. The misspelled words were intentional for the purpose of demonstrating that communication is not hampered much from misspelt words or gramatical erors.

Since you had to know this if you can read, this means you are really just a troll, which others already knew, and I suspected. Discussing anything with a troll is not very useful, and the entertainment value is short lived.

Big Daddy you can think what you want. I honestly don't care. If you honestly believe that MOST errors in grammar and spelling are intentional then I have a number of bridges to sell you. I will leave it at that.

But on that same topic allow me to congratulate you on your own errors to bring about even more humor in the thread. Your first word, Your, should really have been You are or You're, the contraction. Then you really make your point of humor by spelling the word, grammatical, with only one M as in your word, gramatical, which is obviously a misspelling. You did good in making us laugh at your intentional errors.

Now the most humorous part of your post is your insult to me, calling me a troll when my opinion is just as valid as yours. Could there be some other reason for your obvious anger and flying into a rage? I have not insulted you nor anybody else on this thread which I did not even start and here you are insulting me. Perhaps you can explain that to the rest of us. Apparently you are unable to carry on a discussion without getting angry and resorting to name calling. I can only think that is part of your act.

I find some of this is due to the change in the education system - I was able to take shop classes from the 5th grade thru 12th - the last year they built a new building and offered not only wood shop but auto, radio and electronics, welding, forge & foundry - Wallace, ID class of '55 - I am left handed and have the most horrible hand writing - I took typing my sophomore year in order to do my school work better.
What has been dropped from schools also include home education for girls.
As for spelling after living in MX for 5 yrs and learning Spanish I understand why learning "proper English" both in speaking and spelling is such a challenge for so many.

Marge, my dear, long departed English teacher aunt made me a grammar stickler which I cannot shake off at my age of 86. One of her corrections was pronouncing "aunt", not the creature crawling on the ground "ant".

You've incorrectly punctuated your sentence. Commas and periods go inside the quotation marks, like "this," or this." So maybe just keep your "superior" grasp of grammar and punctuation to yourself.

Marge, I am humbled and gratified that there are a few erudite people such as you in this world.

Nope!

The Attic has absolutely nothing to do with photography.

PS. The word "grammar" does not contain an "n".... just say'n.
