I often correct grammar, but hypersensitive people cannot endure or take a correction with any grace and appreciation. I have been blocked from responding because of "snowflake' mentality that finds any comment on their grammar intolerable. The recent posting in the "Irregardless " post has numerable replies that in themselves are ungrammatical. Please unblock me.

This is a photography blog. If you wish to critique grammner, go to a grammar blog.

There is a time and place for everything. This might be the time bit not the place. Most grammatical errors on here I believe are caused by Google and Apple. Also if you want to correct someone’s grammar and just can’t hold back send them a PM and do it in private.

This is a photography blog not an English class. Everyone does not have the same education nor the same vocabulary. You're out of place to correct someone especially publicly unless asked for it as you just did. If you feel you're smarter than somebody else and you have to correct them take it private otherwise if you don't like it leave the blog.

Thankfully this is America and the opinion of others, besides yourself, matter too. I support OOM, Other Opinions Matter. If you don't like grammar corrections then go to another forum. Now, see how easy that was.

My personal opinion is if I screw up on a misspelled word or something that makes my post hard to read/understand I WANT someone to point out that error. I will be damned if I want to continue misspelling the same word in future posts and look like an idiot. I agree there is a nice way to comment on such things and not necessarily in a PM.
I have read many posts here where the language, spelling or punctuation honestly made the post hard to understand without reading it 5 times. At such point I will interject a well meaning correction, not to be offensive but to understand what the poster is trying to say.

Marge, my dear, long departed English teacher aunt made me a grammar stickler which I cannot shake off at my age of 86. One of her corrections was pronouncing "aunt", not the creature crawling on the ground "ant".

Very sad you have not learned to accept people as they are and not as you would like them. Get over yourself.

It is not a matter of being more intelligent ("smarter"), but a matter of being taught correct grammar in grade school. This is, evidently, not a requisite in the public schools anymore.
