And you don't think that the power of Amazon is keeping your local store from having it in stock?

Remember the "Dagwood sandwich"?

Be well! Ed

Ah, yes. It's not easy to eat one of them, though.

There are so many things that a guy needs for whatever purpose that no matter how many merchants one visits you will not find it in my little 40,000 person town, even if there is a store that logically would carry such an item. Using mail order is the only solution in those cases. I use Amazon, and other online sources, for just that reason.

Same in our little 1M person city. At best lots of phone calls and a 30 minute drive for lots of items. In many cases, the phone call produces inconclusive results - ”Oh, yeah. I’m sure we have it.” When local retailer’s inventory is available on line, it definitely pays to look for local prices - makes the drive worthwhile.

Wow is Blondie still in the papers?! The Amazon subject matter shows this is a contemporary cartoon. I remember enjoying Blondie cartoons in the late '50's and early '60's so if it's the same cartoonist, he must be in his 90's.

Dear Foulocks,

Or he may be younger, since cartoonists might be like singing groups, they sometimes change members. Check out how many different members were in one of my favorite groups, "The Four Freshmen" I love to listen to see which were the original group . Surprisingly in my old age my hearing is pretty good & most times I can tell the difference believe it or not !

I had an Amazon delivery moved up a couple of days, to today. However, half a dozen things arrived on Saturday. I get coffee delivered every month, but they're all out of it! I'll have to find a different brand, although I do have two 30 oz containers of it on hand now.

The only problem I have had recently with Amazon is delivery.

I ordered something for the kids to be delivered to their home, half a continent away. They are here for Christmas, so I picked Dec 28 for the delivery date, when they will be back home. Yesterday I got an email that it will be delivered earlier than they expected. Dec 19. They won't be there.

It's not anything expensive or perishable so I won't worry about it.

If it's not expensive, they might not appreciate it. 🤣
