Nicely complementing the first two posts of today Diane, I particularly like #s 3, 7 & 9 - they might be your cell phone shots?

(On this post, only the last shot was from the phone. The clue is in the ratio. )
The old oak tree told its own story in #3...past its glory days and feeling the ravages of time and change to its environment. I felt a kinship to that old tree.

You have posted some beautiful images of your travels around West Virginia. Many are calendar worthy.

Happy to have you following my travels through the WV countryside, RodeoMan. And I will be doing calendars from this trip! Normally I would include images from any trips within the year, but I found more to love from just WV without including any from the March trip to Arizona.

Very nice captures

Thanks so much, topcat. The scenery felt comfortable like an old pair of shoes--hated for that evening to draw to a close.

So glad, thank you! It makes me feel really happy to be sharing images that speak a universal language to the viewers.
There are still 4 days to go, including moving over to the New River Gorge area. Hopefully, there is enough diversity of subject matter to keep it interesting.

Thanks, Doug! There is a barn quilt trail for Monroe County tourism, but we rambled around rather than sticking to a set route. You could check https://travelmonroe.com/tours/ and possibly see some more familiar patterns.

Thanks for the West Virginia info. One of the few states that I have only a very little visitor information for. That web site has several suggestions that look promising.

Thank you, Fred--that is high praise for an amateur like myself. I just have a passion for photography and nature.

After our visit to Pipestem Falls, we wandered some more backroads and then picked up The Farm Heritage Road which crosses over Hwy. 219 at Union and continues past Gap Mills towards Sweet Springs. Monroe County was turning out to be a wonderful place to get out and explore.
(P.S. I have slipped a few phone grabs into the posts. Hate to admit it, but sometimes the phone processer does a better job controlling color and HDR balance than the DSLR. )
