After our visit to Pipestem Falls, we wandered some more backroads and then picked up The Farm Heritage Road which crosses over Hwy. 219 at Union and continues past Gap Mills towards Sweet Springs. Monroe County was turning out to be a wonderful place to get out and explore.
(P.S. I have slipped a few phone grabs into the posts. Hate to admit it, but sometimes the phone processer does a better job controlling color and HDR balance than the DSLR.

Poor old barn! We have so many of these old barns beyond repair down here in SW Louisiana. Many damaged from past hurricanes and never repaired. Sad.

With so many hurricanes, I am surprised that any barn can grow old in the Gulf Coast region. But I love the character of the weathered structures and always wish they could tell their stories. Their fragility is all the more reason to preserve them in photographs.
