One...do you already own some Topaz programs - you get a lower cost.

Two...if not you can download a free trial and see how it works for yourself on your own photos.

It is a stand-alone program or you can use it like a plugin with LR and PS.

I use FastStone Image Viewer: however, I have access to the Canon program that came with my 7Ti that I haven't looked at.

I hate to be "debbie downer," but, of recent, I would NOT recommend any Topaz product, particularly not if you use PS Elements. I loved the add ons up until recently, now they don't seem to interface with PS, and, worse, the "enhancements" are less than satisfactory. I have had numerous emails back and forth, they remoted into my computer and tried to fix things, to no avail. It has now been months and I can virtuyally not use the programs. They keep saying that they have my problem on their list of things to fix, but, that doesn;t help me. Don't waste you time and money!

Topaz's stated plans are that Photo AI will replace DeNose, Sharpen and Gigapixel. IMO, Photo is a Work in Progress with a long way to go to be ready for Prime Time. Down load a free trial and see it it fits in your work flow. It doesn't fit mine but I got it for free so I play with it occasionally just to see how it's coming along

I have a full bag of archived Topaz as well as Topaz AI programs. I have an UHH friend who has a Sony A7 camera and does not see much advantage or change using the AI products. Yes, if using a full frame, low ISO then there is little noise to cure. However if going back to classic digital 1-3 mp photos then the story changes. The snowstorm of noise is cured and the edges in the photo are made whole. Applying Gigapixel the image can be made huge with quality. Shown for my Kodak DC4800 3.1 MP JPEG image in UHH post using Topaz denoise AI, sharpen AI,and Gigapixel :

I do not have Photo AI, but it reminds me of the photo quick fix choice of many edit programs. One must have faith to drive down the road with no steering wheel or brake peddle same applies to autonomous photo edit. I still use some of my "archive" Topaz programs for hands on control.

I have Topaz Photo AI and I Love it! It works perfectly and faster than before just using the plug-in separately. I have Photoshop Elements and They work great together.

Which version of Elements do you have? Do you have other Topaz programs? Do they all function as "filters," listed as such on Elements, or does only one work that way and the others must be used as stand-alones?

I have Photoshop Elements 2022. Yes I have other Topaz programs. Yes they all function as "filters" listed in Elements that work within Elements. I do not have to use as a standalone.

That is interesting, I use Elements 2021, and felt there was no real reason to upgrade to 2022, particularly when 2023 or greater will probably be coming along. Another example of caveat emptor, the buyer beware. The software makers are getting very clever about how they market their products. The consumer gets screwed!

I've recently started to use Photo AI and am pleasantly surprised with the results. My first thoughts were...I wonder what it would do for many of the photos I've taken in the past 10 years or so.

All the Topaz plug-ins and Topaz Photo AI work with Photoshop Elements 2021 also. You may have the "Path" of the plug-ins in the wrong place for them to show up in Elements.

Do you work for Topaz? Did you not read that they actually did a remote to try to make the plug-ins work on my Elements 2021 and failed? Did you not read that they said they have the probkem on their todo list, but have not gotten to it as yet?

When I updated the Topaz Suite, for which I paid about $60, there can be only one filter included in the path. No matter what they did by remote, they failed to fix the problem.

Caveat Emptor, the buyer beware. I paid for their service, but I have not been treated appropriately.
