BAruther3, I've been leery of seed pods since I was a lad for one of the SciFi movies that I watched back then was the Invasion of the Body Snatchers in 1956.

I have an assortment of pastel-colored craft paper that I use for backgrounds and I placed this one about six inches behind the seed pod and washed a soft diffused light from the top down to create the background for this session.

I chose a 50mm reversed enlarger lens that was slightly extended to fit the seed pod fully in the frame of the camera. An LED panel soft light and tracing paper were used as the primary illumination for the session. The series of 156 images were stacked and processed to produce this image.
