After printing one page, Epson ET-2760 lost contact with the computer. I figured I'dprint with the Epson XP-970. No problem. It printed fine. Then I wanted to print on a glossy, sticky vinyl sheet. Here's where it gets weird. Although I had the glossy paper on top, the printer reached below that and printed on a plain sheet of paper. Then it ejected both the printed page and the vinyl. It did that three times, and I gave up.
Also, I can't turn off my flashlight. I have to remove the battery. Maybe I should move to a different room since the furniture in here keeps moving around, and books keep flying off the shelves.

Halloween is just a few days off - maybe you’re having some early spiritual visits, Jerry.

Just know Jerry, that I finally learned that I needed a color inkjet printer, for my teaching needs. I tried Canon and HP, with both being a disaster. With the Epson rep standing in the MicroCenter store, we talked about the Epson XP-970 printer. Installed, and it prints perfectly. I commend you on the one you've purchased too.

I had the same problem recently with my Epson ET-4650 printer where it didn’t print on the glossy sheet but rather the plain paper sheet below it. I took all the paper out, turned them around and reinserted them. That solved the problem for some reason.
The one thing I find amazing (not a happy "amazing") is that the XP-970 accepts only one sheet of photo paper in the rear slot. I'm not used to that from previous photo printers. However, seeing the quality of the print, I can accept one-sheet-at-a-time.

What happens if you take out all the paper and load the tray with a stack of vinyl sheets only?
Hey Jerry, ever think it might not be the equipment?

What kind of applications would the sticky vinyl be used for? Quasi permanent?
What kind of applications would the vinyl *sheets" be used for? is it a an alternative to foam board?

I can stick pictures (and paper labels) on foam board with rubber cement and remove them when done, reuse the foam board.
I think Jerry's examples are good.
I just never had the requirement for the vinyl sheets.

I use them for customizing ukuleles. I have more, but you get the idea. I've also use them to print logos to put on uke cases.
I don't know how removeable they are, but they seem to stick forever.
Great job!!! That's obviously your new business - a real money maker!!!
