BS!

Gaetz's appeal for funding came two days after he — and 200 other Republicans — voted against a stopgap measure that sought to fund the government through December. Among other provisions, the bill also gave $18.8 billion to FEMA's disaster relief fund, $12 billion in aid for Ukraine, and $112 million to beef up security at federal courts.

Like I said... EVERY bill has "pork" in it.

I see nothing wrong with the "pork" listed in this bill so far.

You don't want to help Americans who experience disasters such as a cat 4 hurricane?
You don't want to beef up security at federal courts... or would you rather see a mini-jan 6?
You don't want to help Ukraine? You would rather a dictator buddy of Chump would invade a neighbor for political reasons?
BS! br br Gaetz's appeal for funding came two day... (show quote)

Like the Democrats who didn't want to beef up security during the violent BLM riots? Instead they were demonizing and defunding. Security needs to be beefed up in Democrat run major cities so honest citizens aren't afraid to walk the streets or use public transportation. Also they weren't interested in following the law by arresting those who protested in front of the houses of the supreme court justices.

The vote comes in the same week that Hurricane Ian killed dozens of Florida residents, flooded communities and destroyed homes and businesses.

Gaetz and other GOP lawmakers added their names to a letter that said they’d “do what is necessary” to stop funding the Biden Administration, according to the news site.

So, they would rather vote against helping their own constituents in a time of need.

That IS the story!

No, there is more to it. My guess it was a bill filled with all kinds of unnecessary pork. Bills that would help people after natural disasters should be clean bills to make certain the money goes where it is intended. Period.

Trump has nothing to do with this and yet you still bring him in to the picture. The fact is we have supported Ukraine enough. One should only offer help if their own people are being taken care of first. That is not what is happening in America. Illegal aliens and other countries are being taken care of before the American people are.

How do you square your last sentence with your continued opposition to aid bills for Americans?

"Mr Gaetz was part of a group of Republicans who circulated a letter earlier this month saying they would not vote for “any continuing resolution that expires prior to the first day of the 118th Congress, or any appropriations package put forward in the remaining months of this Democrat-led Congress.”

“As the September 30th federal funding deadline approaches, Republicans must do what is necessary to ensure that not one additional penny will go toward this administration’s radical, inflationary agenda,” the letter said. “Any legislation that sets the stage for a “lame duck” fight on government funding gives Democrats one final opportunity to pass that agenda.”"

Unfortunately.... and even slo eddie should know this, EVERY bill in Congress has some degree of "pork" in them.

That you are a blind/deaf unthinking rock? That’s how your comment reads.

Hardly.....insert "a" between "with" and "Blind/deaf......."

As in "Irrelevant.....but I won't argue with a blind/deaf/unthinking rock.....!!!"

Thanks for the heads up.

Your 1st sentence is NOT true!

https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-235651652542

Chump Monkeys seem to have this thing where Chump or one of his minions tosses a LIE out to his followers and they ALL jump on the band wagon, claiming righteous indignation!

Your second sentence - I agree with.

Your third: I don't agree with the law but, it is the law and should be upheld.

If you take a look at the bill you will see that Penny's "guess" is spot on!!

I posted the things in the law, but you didn’t indicate which things you believe are not needed.

1. I don't take issue with her comment about disaster bills... I agree with it.

2. Penny stated "My guess" and then went on a short rant. I didn't see any list of "unnecessary pork" from her that might have strengthened her claim.

It is obvious that neither of you understand how those in Washington get things done. I'm not saying it's right but, adding "pork" to any bill is common practice.

About that last one, who makes an adamant statement based on a guess? Oh yah, Penny.
