I have survived a broken back from a car wreck, a situation with drug crazies with hand guns, a heart attack and cancer. I've reached 85 but not without help from on high. God is good.

Glad you are beating the odds, Chris. I pay no attention to the odds of longevity. My brother suddenly died at 2.5 years, my father passed suddenly at 41 and my mother passed at 49 after a prolonged bout with cancer. So what are the odds of me living to my current age of 85?
Who knows, but Iā€™m still here. šŸ˜ƒ

And I am SO glad you are Mark!

I'm 78 now. Life expectancy in the US has dropped again, from 77 to 76.1, mainly because of Covid. I'm ahead of the curve. How are you doing?

Hi,
So far, I believe I must be the oldest person in UHH!!!! I will be 90 in April next year. I have slowed down considerably but I'm still here. And I am not the oldest person in my family...great gene pool, I guess.

A misconception of the "average life expectancy" age is not that it represents how long a person will likely live, but really how often people die at a younger age. Take two people, one at 100 years old and one at 1 year old. The one-year-old dies and the 100-year-old lives. The "average life expectancy" of these two people just dropped from 100+ to only 50.5 years!

Stay away from illegal drugs and our average life expectancy will increase once again.

Got you all beat - I will be 87 in 11 more days. Not quite as active as I used to be, but I can still charm the ladies at Dairy Queen.

I've made it to 80 so far. My old man lasted to 91 even though he smoked most of his life, ate whatever he wanted and his idea of exercising was walking to the kitchen for another beer. My mother lived to 85 even though she had medical issues. She had her first stroke at 35 and a second three years before she died. That first stroke affected the peripheral vision in her right eye. She had to stop driving when she ran into a city bus because she didn't see it. She told me she was glad when I got my driver's license so I could drive her around, which I did a lot.

Yep! Laughter is the best medicine, and it's still free.

72 and still going. My wife is 73 and my mother who still lives alone will be 103 next week. I think we're doing pretty good.
