Well, at times I guess it can. I was working as a trainee in a jewelry shop when I was fifteen. It was a high-end shop and we cast gold rings as well as set stones and sized rings. We sold Rolex watches. One day I asked the store owner why someone would pay four times the price for a Rolex watch that was gold over a Rolex that was gold plated. I said no one would know the difference. He replied the owner would. Sometimes knowing you have the best of something just gives you a good feeling.

To answer your question: No. But if you can settle for a little insincere affection.........

Seems like most of us are in agreement: Money can't buy happiness but the lack of it can pretty much buy misery. Like most Hoggers I'm comfortable but I buy little because it's my choice not to do so. I always told my kids having a good paying job doesn't make you happy but at least it gives you options one of which might make you a little happier than another. Those who have no options have no choice, either way.

Depends on the operator. The camera is only a tool.

Money can buy happiness...is just a made up term...it has no empirical value at all.
Money can't buy happiness is the very same thing in reverse...no empirical value.

Money buys what it has always bought...comfort...convenience...options...and the biggie...health.

My Lady and I worked and worked all our lives and saved enough to last till we are gone. If I don’t spend it, my grand nieces and nephews will. 😗
When I retired, the financial advisor said “You’ve been good savers, now you have to learn how to spend it”.
It’s taken awhile, but I’m getting better at it. I hope to be dead broke when I finally go, having enjoyed every moment of every day.
Could I be happy with no extra cash? Sure, but why not get the benefits I worked so hard for and see the World on my terms.

That's universal.

I still get the same level of happiness when I buy something I like.
It's the same experience.
I just don't have to think about my bank account anymore...still feels the same though.
And my options of what I might like and enjoy...go up.
But the happiness remains about the same...either way.

I've been rich, and I've been poor.
Rich is better.
