Still looks good unlike many other cars of the era. I had a 1963 convertible (I prefer the earlier style) but, unfortunately, not the Sprint.

Mine too although it was an 8-year-old vehicle when I paid the princely sum of $250 for it. Not overly peppy with only a six and a 3-speed on the column that once pulled out in my hand as I shifted from 1st to 2nd.

Same here. Mine was an eight automatic. I bought it in 1970 or 71 after I got out of the Navy.

Nice, KTJ! I recently went to a car show where a couple Falcons were included. I remember them, of course, from the 60s, but age and perception skews things and I was thinking both were larger than I remembered until I spied a Pontiac Bonneville convertible. Suddenly, the Falcons were as small as remembered.

Great set, Kim, those 289 Sprints could really boogie on down the road.

I think the attraction is that it's a small, compact, pretty nice looking car with a peppy V-8. I'm in my 70's and have had a good number of cars and I'd be happy with this Falcon. Not necessarily in my top ten, but a respectable looking car none the less. Not everybody's cup of tea...I'll give you that.

Then I think it was because of being a compact V-8. I remember driving one in the past and it was quick and responsive.

Good shots. I know the car was popular but I never understood the attraction.

Make the car all black, straight six and you had the car that was deemed appropriate for the Mennonites.

I remember pulling up to one with six Mennonites piling out of it, outfitted in their standard garb.

Guess I wasn’t discerning, back then any 2 door hardtop with bucket seats and a 4 speed was cool.

Great shots! Owned a 1963 1/2 red Falcon Sprint. 260, Borg-Warner T-10. Quick and fun to drive.

Ahh, yes the best one. 1965 Comet Caliente would be my next choice, just fun little cars.

Nice shots. Nice lines and lots of chrome. Brochure quality.

I bought a 64 Comet Caliente in 1968. I changed the color from white to red. I thought it looked sportier.

Meanwhile, my friend bought a 64 falcon from an elderly lady (this is true). It was a two door, 260 CI with 3 speed on the column. Nothing fancy. He tore the engine out and column shifter and replaced them with with a 289 CI and Hurst floor shift. He did a bunch of other mods to beef up the suspension. Overall, it still looked the same as when he purchased it. I drove it a couple of times and it just stood up and took off. He raced it numerous times at Connecticut Dragway and because the officials didn’t suspect any shenanigans he raced with like 260 CI cars. He won just about every time. Not a very good sportsman.

Well, Foto, it was a small car that would run like hell and still get decent mileage. I don't think they were very practical but then I was driving a 340 Formula S 1968 Barracuda fastback that would leave the Falcon in the dust...and still get reasonable mileage. That Cuda helped me lose my license for over a hundred and twenty days and my dear wife drove me to Pope AFB part of that time so that the AF wouldn't find out I had done so. They frowned on such things back then. The Cuda would turn the quarter in fourteen flat at a hundred on street tires, through the mufflers, and with a Sunday go to meetin' rear.
