Good mid morning from a 47F and very windy Shoreline area. Just got back from my annual wellness visit to the doctor. All good. Got my 2nd covid booster while I was there, so that's out of the way. Need to get Mr Ric to get his taken care of. I hope all is going well with all of you. xxxooo

Sorry for my absence! Trying to get our family reunion plans all set (otherwise known as herding cats) and doing some fun things in the kitchen and ceiling repair.

Focaccia bread — before and after baking!

Strawberry time: making Jam, sauce, frozen berries for smoothies, strawberry pies, shortcake and cheesecake in our future.

Ceiling repair: because it’s so rocky with clay earth here, there are few basements so our furnace/AC unit is in the attic. There is a drip pan for condensation which has a float to signal when it’s time to pump out the water through the hose to the gutter outside the house. The float wasn’t working so we had a panful of water leak through the ceiling. Appliance Repairman and ceiling Repairman have been busy. It will be finished today.

We've been threatened with torrential rain and thunderstorms, could be a very noisy night here.xx

We're having winds gusting to 35 mph (or higher) here. Fun times. At least the rain stopped. 👍

I dont' have a picture of her, but I did find a picture of some other squirrel.
I saw Tippy carry 3 black babies out and a black and a gray baby back, so I'm thinking she may have 4 babies, 3 black and 1 gray. That would be the same as her last litter. Tippy keeps her babies with her longer than most squirrel mums. She teaches them to search for food, unlike most of the squirrel mums who chase the babies away when they are pregnant with the next litter, which is why so many squirrels use the bird feeders, cause they dont' know any better.

For my sisters who have gone back to KP, are you using the same account or have you created a new one. I think I found my buddy list and I want to update it if anyone has changed.
I use the same username everywhere, minus the hyphen on Ravelry, because - at the time - it wasn’t allowed.

Everyone over 18 who wanted a 3rd jab, have been offered or had a 3rd jab. Over 60 and immune compromised have also had a 4th jab, if they wanted. I've held off on getting my 4th until the end of summer to coincide with an expected rise in cases again.
I got my fourth on March 29th. I figure we’ll have to get a fifth just as autumn begins.

Shingles shot is free between 55 and 65. Before and after have to pay. I guess it was decided that age group was most likely to get shingles and should get the shot.
Not free here at any age! It cost me about $200.

Way back when I got the shingles shot it cost $90.00. I have no idea what it is now. Mr. Wonderful should get the shot, but becomes deaf when I mention it. He had shingles a few years ago in/around his eye. He was not terrible sick but it could have affected his vision.
