I now own 2 (different) camera bodies. If i use both cameras on the same day, will I have an isssue with image #'s overwriting each other? I contacted Adobe, first person knew nothing. Second person said no, each camera has its own metadata, so it is not a problem. Is there a time to be concerned about this? I do have the box for "do not import duplicates" checked upon importing.

Possibly, unless you import with a preset that will rename the files.

I import into Lightroom with a preset that generates a number based on the date, hour, minute and second that is added to the file name for each image. Additionally, in each camera, I have customized the numbering system in the camera menu. My R5 files begin with R5_, though it could be any prefix so long as it is unique to that camera.

I have 2 D7100 bodies and occasionally have used both on a tour. One (my original one) now has the prefix "DEC_" (my initials) for file names and the other (newer) still has the default "DSC" prefix. Just to be sure, I also separate the photos from each camera into its own set of subfolders for the event or trip. Both cameras have their clocks synchronized with UT-2 often, so that they will allow my GPS logger to properly identify where photos were shot.

I often use two Sony Cameras at the same time and then import the pictures and never had a problem. I rename the files upon import. I also put shoots into different files. I have even used three cameras with no problem with this method. You should make sure that all of the internal clocks are set to the same time. Then when you import them into lightroom they will be sorted by time shot. Renaming your files is a form of tagging your files.
