If you are getting old, get a dog and dump the cat.

DOG BENEFITS
People who own a dog have a much lower risk of disability in older age, but cat owners don’t seem to be protected in the same way.

We had a couple of them - mother and son. They were wonderful. All dogs are wonderful.

I really like dogs but not in my house.

Funny you should say that. All my dogs have liked going outside, but they preferred being indoors.

I recently had to send my dog across Rainbow Bridge. Part of me wants another dog and part doesn't. Right now the loss is too painful.

I'm already old and have nothing against pets but I have no desire to own one. Having 4 daughters, 3 son-in-laws, and 9 grandchildren are all the company I need. When I want to see animals, I go to the Zoo.
No offense intended to pet owners.

Had bad luck with dogs, one was a biter and we couldn't get it to stop, the other one had a birth defect which prevented its internal organs from growing as the dog aged. We ended up putting both dogs down and as much as I like dogs, I don't want one of my own.

My wife and I had to put our Lhasa Apso down in late January -- very hard to do and we still really miss her. She was part of our family for 15 years (got her as a rescue dog when she was about 2-1/2 years old). We plan to wait a year or more before getting another dog.

I have a 12 year old cat with cancer that must go real soon, nothing could be done for her.

What they like indoors is being part of the family, which lives indoors. ❤️🐾
