No, Wanderer - that was a ref. to the lens-cap for the 18-250 DT lens, for my alpha a77 - I broke, yesterday.

The full story - is at the post headed - Losing It! - a story of irony ...

Here's the link, if you'd like to read it ...

BTW - my Pentax DSLR is the K-50 ... I also have a Pentax 6x7 MF Film Camera (eye-level) ....

Sorry I got confused by the 77 reference. Still grieving too much about my FA77 to think clearly, apparently.

The Sony a77 and its later upgrade - the a77 II, along with the FF a99, and later upgrade - the a99 II (along with many lesser, and long-since-discontinued models) all are part of the Sony SLT (Single Lens Translucent) series of Sony alpha DSLRs. They all use a rather-inappropriately-named "translucent" fixed mirror design - rather than the articulating mirror design of conventional DSLRs. After Sony's Mirrorless MILC designs took off - Sony has not paid quite as much attention to its OTHER line of more conventional Interchangeable Lens Cameras, unfortunately. The a77 is now old hat, and the newer a77 II is swinging in the breeze, with no new upgrade in sight. I guess Sony is hanging its hat on the FF a99 II - which is approximately the same price as a Nikon D850. They also both have approximately the same MP, too. But, truth be known - the Sony is a far, far better product. It features built-in 5-axis stabilization, amongst a whole host of other features ....

This needs a bump for any new Pentax shooters. Oh by the way, I just picked up a barely used, no dust or fingerprints, Panasonic DC ZS 70 because it has a viewfinder and it fits in a large pocket. I keep it in my truck for those times when I don't have the K3 along. Happy shooting to new and mature Pentaxians........Cliff

I have four Pentax's cameras in my camera collection. Three of them are Pentax's K-1000. Asahi Pentax's K-1000 with a Cambron's 1:2.8 f=24mm lens. Pentax's K-1000 was change to use M 42 lenses. The lens that came with the camera is a Asahi Opt.'s Takumar 1:1.4 50mm lens. Pentax's K-1000 (Made in Hong Kong) with a SMC Pentax-A 1:2 50mm lens. The four Pentax's camera is a ME Super with a SMC Pentax-M 1:2 50mm lens. The Asahi Pentax K-1000 with the 24mm lens. I get that camera 40 years and it still working fine. All the others are working fine.

I bought my first 35mm, a used Pentax H1a with a clip-on light meter, back in 1972 to photograph my paintings. Learning how to use that camera got me hooked on photography. I used it until it was stolen 6 years later. In 2013 I bought an immaculate K1000 at a Phoenix, AZ, USA Goodwill store for $10.00! It felt very familiar and became a favorite. I recently picked up a nearly-mint ME about 6 months ago and recently added a nice K2 to my collection. I've always had a soft spot for Pentax cameras.
